I am no electrical guru but if you have a battery drain it could be linked to the HEVAC, maybe final stage resistor shorted, you could try pulling the fuses and/or relays for this and see if it makes a difference, am sure a electrical wizard will be along shortly with more in depth advice.

ive seen the HEVAC mentioned a lot and also the various resistor changes and wiring loom upgrades to prevent battery drain. what is the HEVAC?

Maybe check the relays in the e box? Although I guess if it was a very hot day then the cooling fan may have kicked in due to to that?

The hevac is basically your climate control , the final stage resistor is not really fit for purpose and can cause battery drain when it's on it's way out

nope, it stayed on as well for a while but i then disconnected the battery altogether, my wiring going into the E box looks new or taped up with black insulation tape as does much of the other wiring under the bonnet so i am wondering if this is another pointer towards more problems to come. will my allcomms help with electrical issues if it ever turns up
The All COmms will read any stored faults in the ECU...if these faults are the result of a wiring issue, it will tell you what the fault is as stored...

Be aware that the ecu memory is wiped clean by battery disconnection unlike the bcu which stores historical faults

Are you sure??.....if that was the case, then that is a cheap way of clearing fault codes...and one that has never worked for me...

Others vehicles I have used my All Comms on have had loads of historical faults stored in all the ECUs that have never been cleared even when the owner say they have disconnected the battery for charging etc....

thanks very much men, i think i will wait until the allcomms arrives and start from scratch as it seems to develop new faults on a daily basis which i suppose could be linked to a previous fault that i have and not dealt with
do i get free membership to mensa if i ever get this running??

can anyone remember what i asked, i am learning a lot though.
the fecker still will not start but cranks super quick.
i have been having a search and some mention about the immobiliser code getting lost after the battery being disconnected which allows it to crank but not start, make any sense
and if so if my allcomms gets here before christmas, would that help in a diagnosis?
