We got our first landrover yesterday. Its an 03 discovery 2, td5. Have been towing our lightweight caravan with my rover 45, but my wife wants to get a trailer for her horse. We live in Conwy, North Wales. The last time I drove a landrover was an ancient long wheelbase. I seem to remember it had a 3.5 v8 engine.

It looks like I have found the first fault with it. We only got one key and remote fob. It locks and unlocks all the doors except the rear hatch. Also the dashboard cupholder won't go back into the dash. I'll ring the dealer in the morning.

i did think he was quite brave to mention that, mind you if it's not working properly he might start having issues with his coolant

owdo & welcome to the house of fun

the rear door latch/lock is a common problem - do a search in the disco section - try flipping the landrover logo badge out of the door handle with a thin screwdriver & giving the mechanism a good squirt of wd40 - mine stuck once or twice & this cured it.

a spare key will cost about £100 + cost of programming (main dealer only) - did you ask if it had both keys when you bought it?

sorry can't help with the cupholder - mine works fine

like you said though - if you've only just got it - take it back to the dealer

We live in the town of conwy. The dealer is going to get a mechanic to take a look at it next week..He has now found the other key. The blade of the original key had snapped and they had a copy made. The second remote fob has a complete blade on the key but the loop for the key ring is broke. Stilll good news getting it. It seems to run well (so far at least).

At least you probably get less rain in yorkshire than blaenau. At first glance blaenau is bleak, but the moelwyns are nice hills.

I went to Blaenau once and bleak is an understatement, it reminded me of a black and white photo with a lot of grey thrown in for good measure..but you are right about the rest of the area some beautiful scenery..
Im from the south of our great land of WALES. But live in Spain now just couldnt cope with the rain anymore...
