Hello everyone :dnfnoob: I collected my 2003 Facelift Td5 D2 about a month ago, Had an issue in week 2 when the prop shaft came apart (Front half was left hanging down underneath. Fixed under warranty)
But last night while driving my wife and kids to a play centre, We broke down :frusty:
We were travelling at about 65 / 70mph on the motorway I was overtaking, when there was a lack of power, then the dash lights came on, Engine stalled and we had to make a dash for the hard shoulder.
Upon opening the bonnet and looking inside, there was a lot of steam / Smoke and an oily residue was all over the fan, Engine, Battery covers, All over the aux Belt. RAC patrol said it was just oil, but i am sure it had a diesel taint also.
Dipstick reading is almost off the handle! so far too much in there, I will be looking at this tomorrow so will know for sure.
Also while the bonnet was open, I noticed the Front Cam seal had been blown out (found it underneath).
Does anyone have any ideas to
1. How are where diesel could be getting into the engine oil (Seen Injector O rings are a common fault)
2. What could have caused the lack of power / stalling?
3. What do i need to be looking for other than Things i have mentioned?
I have basic knowledge of car maintenance and upkeep but this is my first td5. Where can i get good quality parts that don't come with a lead price tag?
I am no longer covered by warranty so i am now paying to fix these issues
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the length of this.
Please help me to save my :deadhorse: TD5
