If your leak-off pipes are good, it's almost a certainty there's air getting IN as What'shisname says, on the suction side, which is between the fuel in the tank and the lift pump.

A new run of plastic pipe should fix it unless the leak is INSIDE the tank on the pick-up tube.

if theres a problem with the pick up pipe in the tank wouldnt filling the tank solve the prob as it does wi the rangies?

Probably not, as these "leaks" on pickup pipes usually happen very near the top. The pipe fractures due to metal fatigue caused by being continually bent a bit by the sloshing of the fuel.

The failure in Rangies happens much lower nearer the pickup strainer end, so filling up does help them.

Just to let you know guys,

Replaced the complete fuel line from sender to lift pump today....

Started up and is like a different car.
