I cant believe how this thread has turned around into a back biting contest.
bb and 110 woman along with others put a lot of there own time and effort and in some cases money into making sure this event went ahead,

you will never please everyone as the perfect event and location doesn't exist to suit every member on lz..

instead of bitching and back biting maybe think about how (if you want to) you can attend the next event and enjoy the company of your fellow lzers
if you don't want to then that's upto you but dont put down other peoples efforts as its a very thankless job that was carried out to make sure the event actually went ahead

Yep, pretty much wot I tried to say 11 posts ago:)

I disagree.

The request was for feedback.... and for ideas that would encourage more to attend.
understandably some of that would include things that peeps perceived were negative.
That does not detract from the superb work that various peeps did, and continue to do.

One has to, at a basic level, accept that it did not break even. I would ask if that was one of the objectives?
I would suggest that the OP accepts that the majority of the posts here are meant as constructive.

Do you want to increase the attendance or take the attitude "its our party - if yu dont like it - feckorf"?

I think you are mixing up a genuine reply to 110 asking why folk didn't attend with bitching about it.

She asked a question, I replied, I'm not alone in thinking that way. Then I get attacks from the usual suspects.

The only people who can say why it wasn't better supported are the people who didn't attend.

And as usual they are very unlikely to dare to post it

Me, I really dont care, bring it on

unfortunately most of the "feedback" was from people that didn't event attend or couldn't be botherd
the reason it didn't break even was people couldn't be botherd or said they would buy tickets but didn't, or had other commitments to take take time out to support the forum

I personally had to pay my roadie £80 for the evening,£80 in fuel,£20 for dinner,£18 on mcdonalds on the way home, and turning down a £300 wedding for the same evening
but I wanted to support the forum and not knock what was trying to be done..

the way to increase the attendance is for people to actually turn up and support the forum..not try and turn it into an event to try and cater for everyones very high expectations and accommodation needs

that is very commendable of you to do that, but others did support the party although could not attend it.

unfortunately most of the "feedback" was from people that didn't event attend EXACTLY! or couldn't be botherd
the reason it didn't break even was people couldn't be botherd WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT?or said they would buy tickets but didn't, or had other commitments to take take time out to support the forum

If that is really the case then this thread is pointless!

I don't think people are attacking various points made.
As said, I'm certain these points are being taken aboard.
I'm sure all efforts will be made to cater for everybody but compromises must be made and there is no intention to discourage people to attend. If you can't make it for one reason or another, then that's a shame, but I'm sure there will be other events that people can get to.

no but how can you give "feedback" on something you didn't attend;)

I think we have some confusion here.

I was answering the following, not the first post :p

What I think would be much more useful is to hear from those members who didn't attend. It would really help to get an idea of what the reasons were...honestly....just to see if we can address some of those issues. Know some had plans or were working but what about the rest of you ?

So was I - but obviously that was posted by a thread hijacker - and not welcome

Which is pretty typical.

And if anyone wants to know the second reason I didn't attend, they only have to read this thread.

Trouble is I dont think attitudes on here represent the whole forum which I think is pretty much proved by the attendance levels.

And yes I am bitching now, I wasn't before :boxing:

I thought feedback was requested to improve it.

If, because I couldnt go, my opinions are unwelcome, then I will shutup.

good luck next time.

no but the only constructive "feedback you can offer is why you couldn't/didn't want to go

you cant offer feedback on

the location
access
ammenitys
marquee
food
hospitality
entertainment
things you would change/improve at the event
