It was me going backwards lol

Being towed down a boggy dark overgrown lane backward and no lights, ten out of ten for technique. nine out of ten for concentration. It would have been ten but you did nearly rip my recovery point out with your unexpected braking. Think we will give Brian two out of ten for getting stuck in the first place.

Thatll be due to no engine means no servo assist so couldnt brake quick enough to keep the tension, so you loose points for not taking this into consideration and pulling away slowly :blabla:

Hi chaps,
Getting lane cravings. Weekends are hectic for a week or two. Any more evenings planned. Combination of late working and early mornings will limit me to a few hours only. can leave home 19:30 onwards.
Subject to traffic on route home maybe able to do tomorrow (27th).
Friday evening (28th)?
or Thursday evening (3rd Feb).
Anyone about?
Also anyone done ford lane, Alresford before?

Wanna take Laney out to Langham soon. However i struggled to get through most of it so don't think standard Landy's will cope.
Also up for going on and doing more general laning if we get more rain. I'd buy a snorkel if you wanna come though. Unless you wanna end up walking home.

Laney laughed about it more than I did. :)

Oh if anyone needs parts quick and at a good price I can highly recommend www.island-4x4.co.uk
New starter motor was 79.99, ordered it online at 11.30 yesterday morning and just got an e-mail to say it was delivered to my house at 10.48 am.
Less than 24 hours and all orders over 55 quid get free delivery. Well chufted.

Tiny should be running again tomorrow. :D

I am up for some fun again.... if anyones going out. Nick, which lanes dd you do in the poics the other day, their a poss....?????

Hi Stu, Sorry I missed your call yesterday. work and end of month reports, yet Monday is actually the 31st?????

Depending on commitments I maybe free for a little laning next Thursday, anyone else? could go down into Essex or met at Tesco, Copdock and then head up to Stowmarket (the one you were asking about) and onto Debenham (the ford)?

Not me. I just spent all weekend cleaning the damn thing.

Wrap it in cling film?

Stu, was thinking if there is a few of us & we ended up in Suffolk, We could start @ Copdock (the 1st one we did the other day), then pop up to the one near Stowmarket (the one you wanted to visit) and then onto Debenham and if time do a few of the shorter ones between them.

Brian the ford @ Debenham would leave your Disco in showroom condition, the source is from an ancient roman well.
It was a secret for years & they used it for cleaning the poo of the cart wheels. Its rummered that caesar himself used this ford as it had mystical chassis cleaning & protective powers;)

Its apx 1/2 mile long and 6" deep. I did it in my road standard Disco yesterday. www.wetroads.co.uk

It's all sorted and hopefully no permanent damage.

I have cleaned the intercooler out which was the problem as it was full of water. So my new lift pump was unnessersary. :(

The engine was cleaned again and I left off the air con belt and viscous fan.

This has meant I can now hear an odd noise the engine is making.

The carpet had a cm of mud caked on so I removed the seats and centre consul and jetwashed it.

It has left the carpet clean on top but I need to remove it now along with the sponge underneath to clean and dry it properly.

The problem was Saturday was spent getting it running, spent 5 hours finishing the engine sunday and by the time I got the seats and consul out I was losing the light so just washed the worse off for now so Anita can use it for work while the Beemer is SORN for February and she won't get her precious boots dirty. :D

That ford sounds very interesting though.

You have convinced me. I'm gonna really start looking at a snorkel + ext breathers.

Sounds like thorough clean.
I was using the hand wash place at Homebase, Stanway. But the pressure washers are taking the paint off:eek:
Job for summer: rub off bubbling paint & powdery ali, primer (zinc?) and then spray paint. It'll proberly end up looking awful:eek:
Not sure who is coming on Thursday night or where we are going, but you could always jump in with someone?

Glad you got it up & running.
