Well i still need my engine sorting. Dont know whether to get Brians head, have it skimmed and whack it on, or source a new Engine. Nick is otherwise engaged, so extracting his might take time.

I had a result today.

My donor truck had an old broken gearbox with a good transfer box chucked in the boot for weighing in, but as the transfer box was ok I fitted that to another truck this weekend for a fee.

I've sold the scrap gearbox and Transfer box to Ashcroft for the same money again, so the scrap in the boot has more than paid for the whole Disco.

That's the kind of deal I like.

What did ashcroft pay?

£75 for the gearbox and £50 for the Transfer box

Nice that always helps. I think i got £80-£100 so maybe the spares are getting rarer.....

Ok mate, mine should be easy to remove. Just the Turbo and rocker shaft to come off.

Hokey cokey. Want to get the new bits fitted up this week if time and weather allows, then disconnect the matrix and try it then, but with 3 bottles of kseal in it might be a bit sludgy inside lol

Nick, that firewood got pikey'd! Went missing between last night 11pm and this morning 5am. If anyone sees 4m3 of oak branches around the Suffolk area - let me know. Good job my land rover wasn't at home - they might have thought they'd have that instead.

What makes me laugh though is I actually got a crime reference number for it!

Can't leave nothing outside now I might dig the mailbox up incase they have that away too.

Thats bad luck, Oaks a great firewood when well seasoned, best you can hope for is they burn it green set their chimney alight and burn down their house.

I have got a couple of mates that have asked me about finding them a Disco, if anyone knows of any coming up for sale (not half shagged, overheating, battered up rough ones please ) then let me know, one is to become a family wagon and one is gonna be a toy, both looking to spend about £600-900 ideally...

Not battered and under £1k, if you find one then i would do the lottery as well

Finished the rear diff off over the weekend so its mechanically sound for now but think it will need a full refurb in the spring (the back axle) Still got my electrical gremlins, going to swap the steering stalks over and fit new headlight connectors as one was melted. Just ordered some TD5 early headlights as an upgrade as well

Its SORN now so will probably wait till the new year to get it on the road.
