Far to shiny Jon, stick some checker plate on wing tops.
Did you manage to sell the disco.

Yeah I need to straighten them before I chequer plate, that can wait for now though, need to recoup some money. The disco hasn't gone yet but I have only put on here, I cant believe im selling it all for £1650, I know Discos aint worth **** but its one seriously capable truck and compared to alot its in good condition!

looking good jon but as geof said far to shiney, his used to look that shiney:D will need to sort that out soon wit some tight overgrown lanes;)
dont worry about the wing tops eithe,r mine are like that under the chequer plate, at some point you will end up standing on the wings yourself to take the bonnet of when its time to do repairs;):D

Yeah I knew about that, I just whacked them on as I wanted to get pics of me disco, they had spacers on which I removed after as it looked gay, looked like its was straddling up the road, be ok with 12.5's but not 10.5's...

No worries, just thought I'd mention it .. ;)

Anyone wanna buy a set of spacers? I have got them and a tow bar going, offers here before they go on eBay...

Speak to Mikey he was after some spacers, not sure if he got a set.

Wish I had the money as its better spec'd that mine.

Guys soon(ish) im going to have my landy ready to take out green Laning for the first time. I was wondering if I could tag along or anyone could let me follow then on easy lanes and give advise. I'm a full newbie at off roading and I no I have a lot lanes around near me. There is one which I've seen which makes me want to go down but don't want to risk it on my own.

What Jon said.

The vast majority of lanes around Essex are perfectly manageable in a road standard disco, let alone a fender. Keep an eye on the thread. Always a weekend or an evening being planned. Just stay out for as long as you want /can.

Thanks fellas been a great help and confident boost - just in being sorted at the moment needed a new hub and bearing in the end! **** me my wallets getting lighter!

Learn to do the bits yourself, it will be alot cheaper. Defenders are farm and military vehicles, they are designed to be easy to repair, a haynes manual or the rave manual is a great guide for it but you will find its just nuts and bolts really...

I changed all my diff/box oils today, I had what looks like a gear tooth stuck to the transfer box drain plug magnet, looks like im gonna have to change that at some point soon, its running tho so no rush. I dont think this thing has ever had the oils changed, a bit of TLC though and it will be sweet, need to look out for a disco box and front axle, possibly the rear as well... Its all for the future tho...
