Nice one Jon looks a decent buy, put the tranny box on from the disco, put in some sound insulation and that alone will make it far better to live with. if its got no headlining let me know i got plenty of foam and some dark grey cord carpet getting in my way, your welcome to it.
More picture, soon as .

The disco is going complete I hope, I need to get rid asap to get some cash back, will lose out on a bit of money but it saves me stripping and selling in pieces. I might look out for a new box, 1st has popped once or twice so not sure on that one, it may be me driving it...

as for roof lining, im not sure what im gonna do yet, I may buy one of the soundproofing kits for it, not sure if they are worth it. Hopefully it will be ready for next weekend so maybe do some laning soon?

Nice one John looks a good un;) you will get used to the noise and rattles of a fender trust me, it's just that your used to the comforts of the disco, get all your bits sorted out and we will arrange a days lanning maybe next sunday if anyones up for it, once again well done you now have a cool landy;):D

Ps if I remember you had all the extreme 4x4 suspension on your disco, if I where you I would swap most of it over to the fender and put the fender stuff onto the disco before you sell it

Well done Jon, welcome to the other side.
I've been busy, change my front axle yesterday after work. I'm now starting to feel my age. Just got a few thing's to finnish off, loctite a few bolts, steering guard oh ya put on my new Dyneema.:D

Winch it, off ebay. Comes from netherlands not china. Got it for £143.
Yes got the winch sorted, the frame that holds the brushes just needed cleaning up as it is bolted tho the outter case.

i had a look on the fender and its the same stuff, same shocks, turrets e.t.c so not gonna bother, cant use the springs so no point doing the rest if its the same! Gonna swap me battery over as its near enough new, gonna take me winch of an all.

Anyone know a decent auto sparks, need the wiring behind dash tidying up, it's got a bit messy over the years with bits added.
Wickford / Basildon area.

T&M auto in colchester is best in the area, they will be able to sort it no problem but it will be pricey, do some of it yourself first, get rid of old wiring and trace as much as you can, will save money, also take trim bits off first and tell them you will refit, that can save an hours labour...

Im gonna be going through mine, it looks pretty standard but its as open as the old beetle wiring, i imagine a few connections are poor...

Cheers mate will give them a ring.
Just sent pm re a guy looking for disco off roader

Well I have had the 'fender in at work today and had a decent look over it, the engine has an oil leak around the filter housing so will neede to sort that, also the transfer box has got a few leaks so gonna clean that up and see whats what. I decided to fit my wheels off my disco to it as they have better tyres and its a set of 5 not 4. When I swapped them I found I had a set of decent spacers on it as well so thats another little bonus!

Im gonna change all me oils tonight, prob pop off the hubs and see what the bearings are like, have a little clean up, fit my CB and battery from the disco and then its just wait for my snorkle and wading kit and im ready... oh yeah and that poxy tax as well, I only just taxed the disco 2 weeks ago an all!!!

Couple more pics with my wheels:

The wing tops look like people have been jumping on them, I will have to sort that out soon, will take them off at some point and straighten them...

Just a heads-up ... Check the front tyre fitments .. I'm pretty sure they are a directional tyre, so you might want to swap sides!

Yeah I knew about that, I just whacked them on as I wanted to get pics of me disco, they had spacers on which I removed after as it looked gay, looked like its was straddling up the road, be ok with 12.5's but not 10.5's...

Anyone wanna buy a set of spacers? I have got them and a tow bar going, offers here before they go on eBay...
