Essex lanes

Next Sunday (8th)
Was tempted by PP @ Canewdon, but I’m now looking for a cheaper day.
The forecast for the weekend is RAIN, RAIN & RAIN.
I’m staying in Halstead Saturday night and want to go exploring around mid & west Essex.
I have an OS map for for the area, up to date list of Essex TRO’s, The route handout form the Christmas laning day.
Is anyone interested in joining me.
I’ll have a read up on the herts lanes thread as i know they venture into West Essex.

I'll turn you down on that nick , i got a feeling I may have to put some new shocks on mine this weekend, and will need what money I got left for the weekend after for the show.

Then we got the Driving day on the 22nd as well, lol

Well we managed to get it started but looks like the shaft on the IP has spun and its knocked the timing out.
Gonna have to re-fit the old non-working pump and then Mikes gonna take it apart and try and get it fixed tomorrow.
Starting to get on my tits now.

Hi Stu. I have nearly new dampers on the rear of mine that will be coming off for sale. Good ones that cost me £35 from Mansfield. If you want them then £20 should save you a few quid. Could even fit them round mine if you like.

I don't get what you mean? What's the IP?

Injector pump. Where I stupidly took the nut off the end it looks like I didn't tighten up the replacement nut enough and its moved on the shaft causing the fuel to be pumped in too early hence the ridiculously high idle and the mass of black smoke.

Probably not hence why he's gonna try and repair the other one.

Ok mate thanks for that, I'll bear that in mind, I am looking at my options with rear shocks at mo, I am thinking about putting +2" or +4" on at the mo and big bore ones, I am wondering about the +4" ones so they already there for the big lift, I am also thinking about drop plates on the back so I can use standard shocks, but thats going to cost £40 ish for them so, in a bit of a undecided mode at mo, they will prob go then the decison will be made for me, lol.

Hey dude - yeah, I'm up for some muddy driving (whilst trying not to leave any more of my Disco behind!!). Could bring one or two more with me if they're about - should also have my copy of that OS map by then too!

New(old) pump is on and timed just gotta wait for Mike to get back, strip it down and see if he can get it pumping again.

Spoted your disco on tuesday, I am sure it was yours, it had the compass on the side of it, droping somthing off to no 81 opersite it well nearly.

Can,t do this sunday, but any day the next weekend sat or sun i,ll be up for it. got a spare seat if anyone fancies being a passenger/ map reader. the route your talking about sounds good.

Well got the engine running. Mike had to strip the pump down to get all the air out of it. Seems to run fine, no nasty noises or smoke.
New problem is the clutch gets stuck. Looks like the fork hasn't seated properly, so box is gonna have to come off again.
One step forward, two steps back.

so some good news Chris, it it the old gear box you are using or a new one, I hope you get it sorted soon.

New box. Not exactly sure why its jammed, so gotta get the box off and have a look.

Really?? What town/village are we talking about here? I think I did go out in the Landy on Tuesday, but only a short journey around Sudbury - maybe there's more of us than you think!

I doubt I'll be out myself the following weekend. two weekends back to back might not go down well on the home front. Maybe an evening next week? nights are starting to draw out now

Not to worry, as it turns out I might be able to make the driving day as my daughter is now having her party on the Saturday

Nearly there Chris. Get it finished and MOT'd before Sunday and join us for some laning. If not I'm sure you'll be at the next Suffolk driving day.
