What's the location? How much is it?

Can we sort some jobs on my Disco? I haven't got enough hands for some of them lol.

Is there a post lift at all??? :D

The location won't be posted here. I will pm the postcode to those that want to come along.

Price will be £10 per truck.

The idea is to help each other if it's a 2 person job. I plan to be around all day but won't be in mine as it's SORN.

There is a 2 poster ramp but it is out of action. He has some drive up ramps you can use which is usually good enough.

He has a kettle but bring your own water, cups, teabags, milk and sugar. Or we just need to arrange all those bits for the day.

There is a kfc or Macdonalds about 10 minutes away and I can go for lunch if needed.

Could you also list the jobs you want to do.

This is so we can plan for unforeseen cercumstances and make sure we carry anything we may need to help finish the job.

Ie; new bolts that might shear, silicon to hold gaskets on (I've found that essential on some jobs)

Some of us can advise you in those areas.

I would like to do the following on the maintainance day

  • Engine Oil Change
  • Fuel Filter and Sedimentor
  • Tapets
  • Put Winch Bumper on
  • Repair Passanger Front window

  • Handbrake - needs adjustment (I may buy some new brake shoes before the 20th?).
  • Fuel sedimenter
  • Fuel filter (I have a new filter)
  • Tappets
  • Extended breather pipes (already have).
  • Diff oils.
  • Transfer box oil.
  • Nipple greasing - Have grease + gun.
  • Swivel housing oils / grease.
  • De-Cat - already have the pipe.
  • Tree sliders (if i have them in time).

What shall we do in the afternoon?

She’s not starting that well at the mo and seems a little lacking in power.
Could it be the lift pump is on its way out? Is this easy to check?

I’ll start my shopping tonight:
  • Swivel grease / oil - Not sure which yet, lots of peeps suggest Oil if playing in mud / water a lot?
  • Diff oils (EP90?)
  • Transfer box oil (EP90)
  • Lift pump - I don’t think they are expensive?
  • I’ll try and get a selection of copper washers before then, unless someone else has some?
I also have a 3 ton trolley jack + axle stands which i will bring along.

Oh and a hammer!

Brian what general area is it, if its not to far I may call in.

It's near Sudbury Geoff.

I have a spare lift pump here that works fine. I put a new one on mine after it's drowning but it turned out it was not at fault.

If you take yours off you can test it by manually pressing the lever, you should hear the squelching of the diesel left in there.

You could connect a hose into some diesel and see it pump through.

You may just find the cat is starting to block or the fuel filter is getting blocked due to age. Service it first and change the cat and if it's not better I will have my lift pump with me.

(in fact I might consider putting my old one back on and selling the new one as I need to make some cash back I have spent on the truck)

Can we have a list of confirmed people attending.

Only need to be those bringing vehicles to work on.

This is so I can work out how we all get done.

We can accommodate 3 - 4 vehicles at a time inside but if there are more we could work a rotor system. Get some done and out the way and get others in.

If we all lend a hand then that wont take long.

Cut and paste the list as you add your name.

1. Big Stu
2. Discodad
3. Mathew
4.

I will also bring:

Spare lift pump.
Breaker bar.
Socket set.
Assorted tools and hammers.
Chocolate hobnobs.
Large spanners up to 32mm
52mm wheel bearing socket.
Timing belt locking tools.
timing cover gasket.
Torque wrenches.
