Yer can have the immobilser function disabled I believe using diagnostics....

Do you know where I can get this done or how to get the equipment to do it myself as I intend to have one of these problematic p38 Range Rovers for the foreseeable future might as well get the right equipment to fix things myself

Yep, just make sure you order for your engine type, i.e. diesel, V8 Gems or V8 Thor. Not locked to one vehicle and you can add other engine types for the P38 and other LR vehicle types.
