engine changed in p38 2.5 but now changing gear at 4000rpm lowest .......:(

Not sure if the temp sensor change was necessary but as it was easy to get at thought it was worth doing. I've just driven 10 miles home and all gear changes are now back to normal. Thanks for your suggestions guys.
Ps when i disconnected the battery I tried the 17 second thing, I.e turn key to pos 2 then off remove key then disconnect battery within 17 secs and it stops the alarm going off.
