engine alarm system

hello everybody;
I met today a family having a trip around south america with a TD5 fantastically well equipped and they had 2 very interesting items on their car; 1 alrm system which was fitted on the console (a small black box) whit sensors connected to the coolant reservoir and other parts of the engine and which gave a very powerfull alarm when the coolant level was too low. They had drilled 2 small holes to fit the sensor on the expension tank and glued the sensors with epoxy glue.

The second thing was a special cap on the expension tank which has a safety barometric pressure valve and which allows for the altitude difference in high mountains.

I used to look around the mitsubishi delica forum,i think it was in the delica mod's section.There is diagrams and instructions about the coolant alarm.Don't know about the other,fairly sure you can buy the coolant alarm in kit form.http://www.mdocuk.co.uk/forums/viewforum.php?f=5
