Electric or Air tools

So i need to invest in some decent power tools to work on my landies

I think so far I need a new:

Drill (have an old black and decker leccy thing thats held together more by gaffa than anythin else and need replacing)
Angle grinder (those stuck bolts are a real pain with a reciprocating saw)
Die grinder (useful for sorting out casting in manifolds and heads)
Ratchet (to get things undone faster)
Spray gun
Shot blasting gun

so should i buy all air or a mix of air and electric and can you reccomend a good value compressor that would be able to power them

either, depending on ther intended use, if yer after 12 hrs + of constant running , go for air , it runs tools all day and they dont even get warm ,

all the tools mentioned are readily available in both air and cordless or mains power, they both have top end makes and modles + cheaper versions, thats up to you what you spend,

say a mid range / price air ratchet will be as good as a makita or dewalt electric version ,

as for a compressor get the best yu can afford from machine mart etc , they have good deals on , andgood after service iv found,

wouldnt go smaller than this one tho. iv used it professionaly for a few years trouble free

if going for air dont forget to find out how much air you biggest tool uses this will probably be your spray/shot blaster, then find a compressor with a big enough cfm flow rate and storage tank i made the mistake of buying a small compressor about 6 years ago it had enough cfm for the tools i was using but due to the storage tank being small if i was using any high drain tools it was a pain in the ass waiting for it to come to pressure again

I think I am going to go for air as I tend to work 8 hour days on my landy and burn out electric tools all to often.

I am 17 so moneys a bit tight but I would like to buy quality gear which will last as long as possible.

So my budget is £300-400 but I could stretch to about £500 for a much better set which range/make would you suggest I use

I already have a very good spray gun donated to me by a friend and don't need the drill or die grinder immediately but intend to invest in the future

3-400 wont get you a compressor big enough to really run air tools for long periods.
I would say you need at least 14 cfm and a 150lt tank to run them properly.

There is a reason why most workshops use air tools and it aint just historical. You would deffo need air for all day work.

id defently say go for the air. i am normally a tool snob as i have been called lol im a carpenter by trade an wont use less than dewalt or makita or hilti. but i can honestly say i have been very tempted by (Aldi's) range of air stuff they have in there shop from time to time an 3 years warranty!! for no more than £20 for a air ratchet so i personally would go for the aldi stuff with the 3 year warranty then spend the rest on a compressor that will run it no problems.

am fookin terable me self, everythings snapon , britool or mac, me powertools are dewalt and hilti, but as yer say , aldi air tools have been really good quality, thers a guy on ebay sells a lot of red coated air tools amtech or somethings , £14 upwards, they have been good value too, + 3 years warrenty
