Hi all first thread, just like to post this to see if this helps anyone out or if it has been covered before im sorry,
Just bought my brothers beautiful range rover p38 with the L322 conversion to the body, it looks amazing, but he left it standing and of course the battery completely died, thus causing major problems i.e when i fitted a new battery the becm did not recognise the key so it went into complete secure lock down, couldnt even get into it with the key in the door, so you will laugh but taped the key to a broom handle and popped out the rear quarter window and pain stakingly managed to get the key in the ignition and turned it to then get a bent bit of copper pipe onto the window switch to get the window doen to get in, then quickly found out once you shut the door again the door wont open again so i removed the latch catch from the chassis so i wouldnt lock my self out again, i got the eka code from landrover and tried entering the code through the drivers door handle key entry palava but never worked and kept getting the secure lock out message on dash so you have to wait 30mins before trying again, FUMIN
so what im saying is, if you cant do your eka code there are people out there that can link directly to your becm or ecu and input the eka code directly thus getting you back up and running and it cost me less than a £100
Mansfield motors in manningtree did mine
Mine is a 1996 hse 4.6 v8 p38
