EAS The Battle Continues

Well, sort of good news....!!:rolleyes:

Ran car, raised it to standard height........switched off, waited 5 minutes, removed exhuast.....No air at all coming out. So NRV ok right?

Also this morning, hit standard height and up she went, straight away!!!

Went around with the soap.........no leaks anywhere....(that I could see).

So, just for interest.....when I raise to standard height....pump comes on for 15 seconds, clicks off.....valve clicks a bit front moves around abit....pump clicks on longer, clicks off.....front dances a little more, pump clicks on for a while...then clicks off. On flat ground.

I suspected that I had two issues, an air leak on the storage side (as Wammers has said, and I agree....but can't seem to find it, and today not presenting itself at all!!) and the dance, dancing and a tiny lift with pump running after a rise to height (air bags are NOT leaking).

Anyways, front sensors on order....may eliminate the dance....as my sensors are 12 years old and one did have a fault until I swopped it over.

The saga continues.......

If you fitted the gauge as grit-valve and I said you can see whats going on in regards to fill tank, leaks etc.
My pump doesn't run continuously to fill tank but takes a breather now and then.
Sounds like you lower the car on exit and therefore the pump always have to work a fair bit filling tank on entry when you hit buttons.
 
No it sounds daft but have you actually checked to see if the tank has a pin hole? I know mine looks pretty scabby, just a thought. Oh and mine does the little dance thing to. I thought they all did that.
 
Have replaced both front height sensors on mine recently, calibrated them and mine will do the traffic light dance. Pump only runs now and then, more noticeable whilst in traffic as you are on and off the brakes causing the front end to dip slightly which in turn causes the valves to open and close which in turn drops the pressure In the air tank and it all starts again, pump runs, tops up air tank and so on.

Interesting....mine looks like a second world bomb that has been dug up!!!! So will cover it in soap, see if anything pops up.....

Gonna drive her a while see if she springs up correctly when required and listen to the pump. The new sensors arrive on Monday, so will spend an afternoon calibrating also.

They all self level when you stop. Rachel are you dropping it to access when you park? I ask because you say it takes a time to come up when you start, mine is left at normal height and is usually where it should be before I've had time to put my seat belt on after it has stood for a week.

It's a lot less work for the pump if you do not drop it. I now run mine locked at motorway height all the time unless I'm in floods or mud.
I rather think you will find that all is well if you do not drop it.

Careful, last time I covered mine in soap to see what pops up I got arrested :D:D
 
Always leave mine at normal height unless unloading the weekly shop, light flashes for no more than 10 seconds when pulling of the drive then she is back up to normal height. give it a try Rachel, leave the car at normal height overnight then time how long it takes for the height lights to stop flashing on next start up ? think you will find it will not take long.

Ditto, mine is normally locked in motorway height too - feels a bit sharper on the country lanes like that.
 
Like many, mine are bubbling with rust inside the rubber.

Anyone got any good ones to sell? Or links to a site where they are available?

Don't fancy going down the dump!

The ability to change heights is great, but the automatic change between so called normal and motorway height is nothing more than a showroom gimmick IMO. On my weekly shopping run it would make 8 or 10 height shifts in 60Km. Ridiculous. So now it stays at motorway height and if it needs to go up it's my decision, not some fecking robot.:rolleyes:

At last you've changed your tune .

For instance no need to interfere with the eas automatic system, it works fine .
Now you realise it wastes the compressor for nought .:)

The EAS is still automatic and I don't interfere with it, I just have it stick at one height as it did on it's own in the UK as I never got to go fast enough for it to lower:mad: I have always had to lock it when towing as instructed in the owners manual, and in order to have all 4 wheels of the trailer on the ground that has always had to be at motorway level.
Self leveling for load and all other aspects are still automatic, perhaps you do not understand that?

No its just when I previously mentioned about locking it in standard hight you started rambling on about how its not needed and is fully automated and more stable when lowered etc etc
and that why would you lock it as Landrover had designed a good device that would, did not need its system locked etc to save the compressor usage ..
That was the point of us locking it in standard hight .

You did not agree hence why I said
