Right - so when I leave the car overnight, it goes down to the bumps practically.
However on a bbq session in the new forrest yesterday, with the tailgate open, it stayed up (so to speak) - thus the system and springs don't appear to be leaking, which is nice.
Obviously then the self levelling or something else is dropping it down when its tucked up at night - remind me of the possible issues so I can start looking?

Parked on uneven ground it will self level down. LR's service bulletin states 15mm drop in 24 hours parked on flat ground is OK. If you have a dodgy height sensor it will make things worse.

Thanks mate.. mine does drop more than the recommended 15mm! - and the ground isn't really uneven so maybe a height sensor I 'spose. Thanks DT.

possible, although when I leave a door open or tailgate as per all day barbie on sat, it didn't really budge

Could still be a leaking airbag, the leaks open and close where they fold under. Do a visual check to see if they are perished:)

they are in need of replacement - look like the pictures I have seen on various threads of perished springs. Replacement will ensue when I get back from hols.. if I am feeling brave as previously mentioned :) and once I've done the window regulator.. box oil change and topped up the diffs! loving my first RR LOL!
Just hesitant incase I get in a scene on my drive way when replacing them

If they are visually bad, then that is most likely where your problem is. Leave it and you will be in for a new compressor or even a catastrophic bag failure leaving you on the bump stops.

indeed.. defo getting done, just not in the next 2 weeks as I can't get it on the plane with me :) - springs on order..
