You know to be honest i havent a clue. Didnt cost anymore but I told him how i drive and that ive already tweaked the turbo and would be fitting an intercooler soon as.

His response was "I can tell youre not a timid man, ill give you a nice strong map" then we went for a drive he tweaked a few things and i was very happy. Still am!

Just reading off the site I assume that would be an S2 map.

Not bothering with a boost box, £120 for an extra 4psi seems too much.

That said I do plan on fitting a new turbo from TD5Inside, Alisport manifold studs, EGT Gauge and an oil pressure gauge.

Ooo you will soon be able to keep up with me, as a red D2 Td5 with four people did on the M26 east bound a year or so ago, I was surprised, but great. I normally at 95mph floor the throttle, the gear box then drops a ratio and off I go into the distance, But not this time :(

You do have some strange dreams. Is that when the pistons come out the side of the block?:D:D:D

Ok i can see the point of doing an EGR bypass and maybe putting a bigger intercooler on, But for normal road use reprogramming the fuel map IMO is playing with fire.
The way i look at things is why mess with something that LR mapped to do a good job. It seems to me that if LR could have got more BHP for "better MPG" they would have mapped it that way. The EGR was put in to keep the "greens" happy (low C02) and when new worked well.
It just seems to me that why open up your self for more repairs when all is going ok. When it comes down to it, Its a Disco a 2 ton 4x4 with 7 seats. See where do you stop, Because now you have more HP you must need to look at the stopping power (Brakes, Tyres and so on).

Ok right rant over sorry but there it is.....

Well it's all booked for the 11th November, if it goes wrong you'll find me in tears on the forum to talk all about it. I'm not wanting a sport car, just a little more torque and help when going up a hill

Lower NOX actually, diesels put out very little CO2. EGR does nothing for that. More power, more torque, more fuel, simple as that. Driven like a nun you may get a slight fuel saving on a longish run because of the more linear map. But if you use the power you WILL use more fuel, the power and torque improvement cannot be done any other way than by increasing fuel.

Yep. That's why I mentioned multiple MPG figures. If I drive properly, like a nun then yeah I can push ~28ish around town, low-mid 30s m-way, though 70% of the time I am not so MPG is more like ~25 but its nice to know I can get better if I drive better.

Though motorway is much better all round, I mean how often are you going to be using the extra power on the mway? Last run I averaged 36mpg pure motorway driving where as before that figure sat around 28mpg. However whether that has much to do with the map or the combination of all the other mods done I've no idea and certainly not going to try and find out!

Worth mentioning there is a lot of extra weight on my 90 such as the cage, sliders, various steel guards and the off road tyres.

I take it that is a manual? Autobox would be much less, specially around town at 30 mph stop start. Auto would only come into it's own fuel saving wise above 50 in torque lock.;);)
