Slit a short length of copper pipe and use that as a spacer sleeve between the post and the clamp?I've improved it Alan.
On close inspection, the end of the clamp , the split sides were touching so not allowing any more clamping force. I've run an hacksaw blade up it and closed the gap up again in a vice and it clamps much better. Before, I could just lift it off no matter how tight the nut was.
The earth cable is bolted in two places, I removed it just to check the earth's were clean, it's standard with no way of gaining anymore slack without modding something which I didn't want to do really. The battery is the problem as the terminals are central, if they were at the back as I suspect the OE battery was, there would be no issues.
I was going to fit an earth extender cable from the cable lug under the fusebox to the body earth stud, that would give enough slack to chop off the clamp and fit a better one. Looks like I don't have to now
Any piccies, pretty pleaseThere's a truck stop/ services just outside of Madrid, just before you hit the motorway going North to France. Loads of working girls. The Spanish dibble leave them alone as long as they wear hi-viz. Funniest thing you've ever seen, birds in lo cut tops and micro minis, four inch stilettos and a hi viz vest.
Discovered that all the brake pipes have been renewed from the driver's footwell back except for the fancy curly ones each side.
I also realized that there are two short jumper flexies which will be renewed along with the long ones to each caliper plus the new curly fancy pipes.View attachment 248376
Copper? Might be an idea..I remember you offering them before, I have the tools so will have a go and be in touch if I failThose curly pipes are quite a fiddle to make if your stuck a have a set made up ready i could post to you.
I've worked outside on all my car's for nearly 40yrs, this is bloody luxury compared to lying on my back on gravel.Looks like u got a good garage setup to work in there
