problems are smoke when booted seams to be worst when engine has been run for a while, poor mpg lucky to get 15 round town 18 combined 22 on motorway,is this normal? hotstart issue aswell, also abs light comes on intermitantly, changed ecu temp sensor, starts firstturnof key, runs all ok any ideas.

replace all filters for new( buy a k and n air filter insert , 40 quid and have a lifetime warranty).
replace oil for fully synthetic
add slick 50 ( it does what it sais on the can):)
get injectors serviced

have changed the fillters and oil this weekend as advised the smoke has almost gone ,mpg gone up buy about 2 miles to the gallon, thanks for that :) gona get the injectors serviced next £27 each from the local recon shop hopefully i will then get past the 20mpg around town

Get them to test injectors, and only fix bad ones.maybe save you a few quid if only 1 or 2 are bad. Is it using much water..if it is it might be a cylinder head gasket.

My 2.5 DSE does about 26 'around town', 31-33 on a run and probably 23-24 if I boot it hard. I fitted the Rimmer Bros power upgrade (136 -167 bhp approx increase) and the L & N air filter which gave it better economy and load more power. Richard

I get 19mpg combined motorway and local driving!!!

you have a problem.
i can get my v8 petrol classic to do that milage.

change all filters
change air filter for a performance one
slick 50 engine.
replace oil with fully synthetic

check tyre presures

filters have all been changed.
oil has been changed. Not sure if it was synthetic or fully synthetic. It was the land rover suggested one. Was not sure what sort of oil to use because not owned a diesel before nor a range rover.
Air filter was a standard one - again didnt know better but will change it.
Not added slick 50 to oil.

Its has been serviced with everything changed less than two weeks ago.

I'm thinking injector fault or air sensor. If there is more feedback it'd be appreciated. Rather not fork out for parts I dont need!

smoke on the engine is normal now, have not done the injectors yet hope to get them done next week millage is still v poor dosnt use any water, no overheating at all will keep you posted on outcome thx
