Hi an on and off prob for a while car would jerk left as if something was pulling steering wheel , then would carry on as normal for minutes , sometimes days and in the last stretch 4 months of no issue , I had it in garage for a check and nothing was found to be wrong , however yesterday and today the problem occurred for most of my journey home I constantly was fighting the wheel holding it slightly right and could feel it trying to jerk to the left most of the journey this was accompanied by like the sound of driving over rumble strips , I got to a junction heard a couple of clunks , then as I try pull away sounds like bucket of nails have to really throttle down so revs high and it clunks in and moved with all the metal sounds I pulled up in safe place and left it for recovery later on , anyone know of potential prob or is it game over for this motor , sitting at 185000 but no other issues ?

Take it to a different garage.
Wheel bearing, driveshaft universal joint or similar.
Economic fix.

Car won’t get to a garage on own steam , had bearings replaced in January , you think it could be fixable at not to bad cost ?

If it was pulling against the steering wheel then its likely a diff problem
So I start it although all the dash warnings now come on it sounds like a bucket of nails , metal rattling what’s the likely damage need a new diff, if I floor the accelerator I can move it still just sounds like **** when it started the noise I did hear like metal falling off perhaps ?

You need to get under it, wheels off the deck and check the diff, see what the wheels wanna do when you turn em

Got the feeling you got a d3, they can eat diffs and some of em had a mad coating in the inside that broke up

Diff replacement on drive is doable but I didn't laugh about it much 😅 you can get them rebuilt at a specialist

Might be drives haft or sumat tho, need to have a good look, can you get it recovered to a garage

It’s about 3 mile from my drive is there anyway I can change a terrain mode to limp it home or anything just don’t wannna move out to main rd and come to a stop or wait for aa to just get it back ?

Like smithy says, jack it up and see what wants to turn and what doesnt, but recovery seems the sensible option to get it home

Idle is fine then as soon as drive engaged and hand brake off it clangs away
Good 😅 i had a front prop strip its splines on mine as well, sounded horrendous but no drive, didn't have the funky steering tho with that. It needs wheels up recovery mate, use the AA, you're paying for it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Right recovered he had a look it’s the right side drive shaft basically hanging bearings gone etc not sure next move but I think it’s beyond me Il have a search much appreciate all your input .

Well upon looking at what’s involved, I changed all the front hubs/bearings last year it doesn’t look like it would take much more stripping down then that to replace , so to save having it recovered to another garage and costs I’m going to attempt it , is it just a new r/h drive shaft I would need and that would include everything needed to replace like for like is it likely a drive shaft failing damages anything else as hoping just be a simple replacement ( prob not so simple with these cars )

Also what’s the actual part I need if anyone got a link ? , Is it just one part that connects end to end as google shows some longer then others confusing when unsure ?
