just picked up my first defender Monday and noticed I think what's called a drag link missing from the front wheels? It looks like it's been missing some time. I've put pictures up with this post. I'm a bit worried as it came with a new mot. Is this an easy fix I can do myself? Any advice would be much appreciated. Also where's a good place for parts online please?
Thanks
Kev

Phew, thanks for that. I went into panic mode there for a bit. There was a lot of head scratching wondering where I was to refit one. It steers fine so all good hopefully. So I take it it only needs one drag arm? I'm putting the massive vibrations down to unbalanced wheels which have serious off road tyres on them. I'm getting that all sorted this week. Thanks Blue Beasty!

No, it's all there. However the rubber dust cover on the steering box end looks like it is coming to pieces. So you might want to do something about that to stop dirt and water getting in the joint.

Thanks very much guys. Just had new tyres and balancing done there now and what a difference. Managed to sell my old off road tyres too so all good. Will make dust cover my first little project These defenders rock!!!!!! I'm hooked!! :)

Oh while I'm at it. Does anyone know what these blue pipes are doing? One goes to the snorkel and then they split everywhere. Thanks

My steering wheel felt like it was attached to a washing machine, turned out the upper bearing in the swivel joint had disintegrated, should have jacked it up to check when I bought it.

Thanks for the breather pipes info folks. I'm new to Defenders and absolutely love them. Done a full service on it myself yesterday. Fixed leak on passenger side too. All easy. A few more little jobs and then it's on to giving it a face lift over the autumn/winter. Oh and I picked up a bargain of a roof tent on a landscape job I did. Check it out........
