Decent mole grips, done up tight enough WILL undo them. crap or worn mole grips will just chew them up. Considering the expense/ hassle involved if they do get too chewed up it's worth going out and buying a brand new decent set of big mole grips before you start.

GREAT idea, weld a nice big M10 nut on there, problem solved!

Also Ian I'm sure you will find once you add bumper and winch it will drop around 1" at the front.

Cheers!

Hopefully it will do as there has to be a good 70-80kgs in a bumper and winch plus battery etc.

Anyhow success so far this evening in as much as three out if the four nipples are now loose. Just one on the rear offside to do. That is well rounded now so wheel off tomorrow and try some more.

Well last night I came home and started straight into the brakes in one final attempt at bleeding them. The other night I got three of the four nipples loose so first thing was to get all the wheels off and the vehicle on stands. I hadn't realised how awkward handling 33" tyres could be.

Once of the stands I connected the ezibleed system with 18psi on it and got to work.

As the book says I started at the near side rear, then the offside rear. These calipers had quite a bit if air in so the extra effort and persistence to get the nipples undone was well rewarded.

As my calipers at the front have three nipples each, you have to bleed the two inside o new together. This revealed more air so I was hopefully that this would work.

Again with the nearside front first and then the offside I finally after a couple of hours had the vehicle back on its wheels and used a litre air fluid to flush through the system.

Result? Yes it worked a charm. The brakes are fabulous and a lot better than they were, well at least what I can remember. After all it has been 7 months since I have driven her.

So now it is ready for the MOT which I will get sorted ASAP and then were on the road again.

Happy days

Well done good luck with the mot mate

Cheers Matt,

I am thinking that Tuesday would be the best idea. I can perhaps drop it to you on Monday night. I will text you / probably see you over the weekend anyway to organise.

Awesome thread GreenHornet! Yourself and Mr Noisy have inspired me to get on and repair the rot on mine... got a few other ideas in the pipeline too, like fabing my own bumpers as no one makes what I want! Back to the subject of roll cages (a subject very close to my heart at the moment as mine was on its roof last weekend!) have a look through these pictures for inspiration.
