Hi Alan, just a couple of thoughts on the gearbox problem. First of all what speed is this happening at?? - is it above 52mph so the the torque converter has locked up?

To establish exactly what it should sound like on kick-down, try using the gear selector to select third.

To get the box to kick down, you need to apply a forcefull and brisk pressure all the way to the floor - not just a gentle squeeze, if you see what I mean?

Cheers
Dave

thanks for the reply to the big lad .ihave found that if ido the kick down putting the accelorator to about three quarters of the way to the floor it works fine if i put the accelorator right down to the floor the revs go up and downcntinually .this seems to happen at all speeds.
