Great news mate ur making progress through the DS

I wonder if they tried to disable the egr by unplugging it

Maybe the dpf is blocked so they u, assume the live data will help in telling u the live readings of both sensors either side of the dpf

Indeed amazing how much can be affected when one part is faulty , fingers crossed after fitting a new brake light switch will reduce if not all dts error codes

Plse let us know how u get on and any further info u need I can always look it up for u

Have a great weekend mate

Did find this as well for u ref the red brake light showing if is if appears, of course may not be relative but just in case as it can also sometimes keep that red light on

Fingers crossed it’s just a faulty brake light switch and nothing else

A red brake graphic (all except NAS vehicles) or red BRAKE legend (NAS vehicles), to warn of low brake fluid
level, handbrake on and brake control system failure affecting EBD.

EBD
The EBD function optimises the distribution of hydraulic pressure between the front and rear axles, under all vehicle
load configurations and road conditions, to maintain vehicle stability during braking. EBD operates in forward and
reverse and is automatically enabled whenever the ABS modulator is in the normal braking mode at vehicle
deceleration rates of 0.3 g and above (i.e. medium to high brake pedal loads). EBD operation is similar to that of ABS,
but is calibrated to intervene at lower wheel slip limits and operates the brakes in axle pairs instead of individually.

potential wheel slip situation, it signals the ABS modulator to close the inlet solenoid valve for the brakes of the slower
wheels. This prevents any further increase in hydraulic pressure to those brakes, while allowing the hydraulic pressure
to the brakes on the other axle to increase and so maximise the overall braking effort. If the wheel speeds of the axle
being subjected to EBD control return within the calibrated wheel slip limits, the SLABS ECU signals a stepped
opening of the inlet solenoid valves, which allows a progressive increase of hydraulic pressure to the related brakes.
Operation of EBD is detectable from a stiffening of brake pedal movement as the inlet solenoid valves close and a
slight pulsing of the brake pedal as the inlet solenoid valves open. EBD operation ceases immediately the brake pedal
is released.

The wheel slip limit for EBD operation varies with vehicle speed. During normal operation, the inlet solenoid valves
always operate in axle pairs, with only one axle pair closed at any one time. Since the most lightly loaded wheel during
a braking manoeuvre will usually be the first to reach the slip limit, under most vehicle load configurations and road
conditions EBD control occurs on the trailing axle. However, EBD control can occur on the leading axle or switch
between axles during the braking manoeuvre.

Yes mate thanks for you help and information always appreciated but still wish you were here, definitely have to replace brake light switch as first action, have removed it it's very stiff and gritty new one should then narrow down codes or maybe clear up although I doubt it Lol
dynamics and abs rely on this signal as you know and remember my 09 threw a total paddy when dynamics was missing a sensor signal with a big knock on effect, also speed restriction mode takes information too you never know
Will investigate further the egr maybe just replace
Just waiting for switch to arrive not same as D3 or D4 its discovery sport 15 on I believe green blue
Will let you know what happens many thanks

Brake light switch turned up late yesterday managed to fit it but is a fiddly little thing
This morning set my camera to watch turbo actuator as was very sluggish shouldn't have worried, power back no gongs no fault codes apart from camera, drove fine, I know it is only first test but it's the first time it's not had multiple codes since i have owned her
Seems at this point the BLS was causing issues well most of them I hope
Oil change tomorrow and order egr so hopefully on the mend
Was stood up after being driven through a dustbowl it seems all the best

Saga continues done a few miles today, drives fine, no lights, tonight used it for work when I knocked off had immediate aed and stability not available, no loss of power or effect of any kind well noticeably, turn it off and back on all good again?
More headscratching ahead, will go through see what codes in the morning
Did find the landrover website and it has a full service history to date although intervals seem quite long to me anyway
Oil and filter change gone for shell helix, and also empty and refill box again as first change has improved it dramatically
Just got to work out what's triggering issues any ideas gratefully accepted all the best

Ran diagnostic this morning was indeed getting transmission temperature code, module appears to show temperature at 80deg cold and supply voltage at 14+, doesnt seem right? will check wiring but may send tcm for testing/repair looking into that tonight
Was expecting aeb to come back as cameras not working, I think it relys on the two front cameras
Couldn't get oil filter undone had to get a socket arrived just now
Really need to get new egr and filter cleaned too before long
Tried to reset camera also by holding power button down for 15 seconds but to no avail maybe points to camera module?
Will slowly work through issues I hope probably pictures after I cleared first set of codes
If anyone has had any of these issues or could give me a heads up much appreciated

Come up with a plan fo the sport, going to remove egr and cooler, this will give access to well ish to gearbox module, which I'll remove and check the pins/plug you never know, have managed to talk ecutesting.com to take a look at it for me if they can't fix it will be returned foc well that's the plan so far, they should be able to at the very least be able to confirm a fault or give it a clean bill of health hopefully. Tcm just visible at bottom of picture, has LR logo on it, and is secured with 4 allen bolts one visible
Been on D3 last night and today topend all ready to come out, on stands any ready to take transfer box off, and pull out but is half outside so will rely on weather to cooperate
Egrs off the motor going in and wiring loom removed, just turbo to switch and clutch for torque plate
Hopefully motor out tomorrow maybe probably Lol

Pulled motor and box today on D3 only had sump and r/h engine mount and lifted out, decided to carry on and strip box off and refit to other motor stripped off egrs and switched them, changed one cooler as there was a little puddle in l/h link pipe just wiring and turbo left to change hopefully start refitting Monday ish
On the sport done a couple of tests under the guidance of @gstuart don't know what I'd do without you mate, many thanks he also found lots of information on the 9 speed which has been invaluable, the sensor block is available and changeable it seems with out removing box probably Lol but still have plugs and wiring to check and live data to run
Only tested canbus high and low both are 60ish ohm's so at least their intact
Going for mot Monday morning, then will go through all tests reccomend by my electrical guru see what we find many many thanks mate
Have a great weekend everyone

Ur so very welcome mate in finding data etc ,, indeed that ATF temperature sensor is well tucked away as part of the loom , ref - number 4, ref

The fluid temperature sensor is integrated into the internal wiring harness within the transmission sensor unit. It detects the ATF temperature in the transmission and transmits a signal corresponding to the temperature to the TCM. The TCM monitors the temperature and adjusts clutch and brake application to provide smooth gear shifts across a wide range of temperatures and ATF viscosities.

See you’ve also made some good progress on the D3 in getting the engine out

Always find projects like this very interesting and how it’s all squeezed into such a small engine Bay Area , often see more modern motor even worse for access

Thks again for sharing the project with all of us and look forward to see how u get on

Took sport for mot Monday failed on head light, main and dip only, stripped bumper off, light out it had water in, dryed it with a blow heater and a fan for a day seems to have dryed fitted new hid, running light back main and dip still nothing, removed the module see picture, i think the white powder used to be a capacitor managed to find matching one for £35 so will see should be issue you would think? Fitted new fog light surrounds plastic chrome was awful on old ones
D3 just intercooler pipes and power steering pump to fit tomorrow and its ready to go back in
Thanks mate will try to find part number for transmission cooler and change when I drop the fluid again been advised against flushing the cooler all the best

As always great pleasure to help where I can

Wonder if this is the part number LR086284

Only thing is unsure of which 2.0 u have seeing there’s 2 x options

Then should be able to find one that’s cheaper than the £300 quoted

Also can’t see if that new headlight module needs re coding but suppose wouldn’t surprise me as I assume the main ECM looks for matching vin numbers in each one throughout the canbus system , think they do that because of theft

Are u able to get any pics of the current transmission oil cooler please as at least then we should be able to match it up and fingers crossed find one cheaper that’s a copy of ur oil cooler plse , thks

As h say easy way to find out by plugging it in and see what works , still suprised why thr fuse ddidnt pol seeing the orig a, module is in such a state

Thks again for sharing the pics as very interesting whilst me being an armchair mechanic 🤣

Also see other countries do external filter kits ,

Complete filtration solution ZF 9HP48.It does not require changes to the original automatic transmission components, it is quickly installed instead of original heat exchanger, serviced and removed .

The main filter of automatic transmission AF-267 filters wear products up to 20 microns, such as corrosive material, adhesive bonding of friction discs, small chips from friction clutches and lock-up clutches.

An external filter is installed after a major overhaul, a complete oil change or the detection of chips in the system, it prevents wear products washed out with new oil from entering the valve body and solenoids.

IMPORTANT! When tightening the fittings, use the thread lock.

Same part number but from Germany / Estimated between Mon, 31 Mar and Sat, 5 Apr

ALL EUROPEAN CUSTOMER & INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMER NEED TO PAY IMPORT DUTY & TAX

Yes mate think that's the one Midland auto parts have a German made one on evilbay for £95 they made me an offer have emailed them with vin
Yes check out the corrosion in the module just out of interest I did an earth test most of the chips all pins ground to earth, several other capacitors also, possibly blew the internal 0ohm resistor couldn't find reference to vin coding but my diagnostic has adaption for lights so will let you know should be here tomorrow only one I could find that was all numbers identical, back on D3 this weekend many other little jobs keep popping up
Many thanks for your help and advice mate been most helpful, brace yourself I'm sure to have more questions though Lol

New used headlight module turned up, fitted it light works straight off no coding, passed mot Monday, been using it so far runs fine
Going to work through codes over next few weeks, had a code for mist/rain sensor, hivac, and hud cooling suspect mist sensor is causing these issues so will fit new one and see
Gearbox cooling, going to change the cooler, have to remove intercooler to access so going to check for oil seems to be some at intercooler joints maybe turbo? and clean also the egrs cooler filters pictured sort of still have to work out why hp egr is not plugged in?
Just a couple of intercooler pipes to do and putting 09 motor back in at weekend big thanks to @gstuart for his help in finding my way through a minefield of information quite a bit incorrect, and finding technical data has been so helpful all the best

Mist rain sensor turned up, fitted and tested hud cooling fan, mist sensor and hivac faults all gone took for test drive 1 1/2 hours no gearbox over heat tcm reported no faults so crossing fingers garage reported gearbox set limp mode after 30mins from cold
Just instrument cluster loss of communication can b so sending to ecutesting.com for a health check/repair, no other codes camera not available but module reporting no issues so is cluster coms effecting camera?
Going to change transmission fluid while dash is away also going to have faux chrome tow cover wrapped black fog light surrounds look so much better
Starting to grow on me at least until next fault
Back on D3 today as need it out and in use, also need workshop for some work I'm doing for a VIP soon all the best have a great weekend
