The one you posted looks good but being only one item I would spend ages looking for it and fail where mine came in a nice blue box which is easy to spot!

Yes I do have serious trouble with putting something down and it vanishing, only for it then to be found when the job is done in some other much more 'extreme engineering' way!

Yeah I had seen that type, I wasn't sure if they were only for nuts and bolts where as mine is just a stud thats left. I could have used this set the other day when I just had a rounded off head. Bit late now

Not used that type but it looks good. I have used the type that you drill a hole through the center of the stud then screw left handed in till it grips then it comes out. The cheap ones tend to break and you need the right drill bit. Total pain in the arse to use but do the job, if you can get to the outside of the stud your link looks a better bit of kit. And you can never have to many tools in the workshop

Yeah I have a work colleague who has the drill kind I think I will try with one of the clamp style ones first as I still have about an inch of stub sticking out and a tool is never a bad purchase. If the stub then brakes off I will then have to remove the timing case..

with all the pulleys that I have already had off and drill it out the block. I just need to get my gauges on the bolt, most of the bigger ones only go down to 6mm. As always will put up pics of my fumblings... NOT THOSE KIND!!! ... Honestly you lot are incorrigible!!!

Finally opened the link as on PC now. These are good, used them to undo security shear nuts on palisade fencing, really strong and stay sharp for ages, moush have undone 600-700 galv nuts with one.

Only joking..... They do look good. I have ordered the clamp one on the line because for a long way along the shaft and can be used with my impact wrench. Can you use your ones with an impact wrench do you know?

No need, hammer them on and use a ratchet. The tighter it gets the more it grips. Think a impact would be to jumpy and would loosen the grip.

Ok sure... The reason I ask is that I think this one is not only rusted in the block but the ali casing has reacted and that is making it stick as well. So by using the impact wrench I can just jar it open bit by bit. I think if I just got a bar on it it would shear off again... We shall see hopefully this tool will arrive before the weekend and I can have a go

those things are brilliant, gets any nut off in any condition, even if there's a stud stuck in something it will grip that!

Looks like I'll be having a go tiying up my axles brakes and suspension also, first I need to sorce some parts at a decent price.

It really depends on what quality you want... I don't think I've gone for the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive. I don't intend to do mega heavy off roading though just in the forest and round local fields so I didn't see the point in mega buck stuff. Best of luck with it though, I got most of my stuff from Island 4x4 and Paddocks, but depending on what you want there are loads of places...

I just think at the min its still so long I'd just ring it off again further down the shaft. Then if that doesn't work I will have to take the timing case off and use the ones you drill in instead..... Watch this space....... No not that one! This one ......... <- Here....
