Sorry for the delay in continuing my story, but 2 stays in horsepital slowed progress somewhat. Anyhoo, removed head to find that it had failed the same as the last one, but in different location. sent head for checking and pleased to find its crack free and flat. Block is good so cleaned everything off, checked it for flatness and all is good, fitted a Landrover head gasket and fiinished it this am.. I can see a court case pending so cannot mention the gasket supplier yet. I will keep everyone informed of progress or lack thereof.
When some manufactures sell crap, they try to avoid the fact that they do, and like to be in denial about itI'm getting nowhere with Arnott and my patience is waning. It seems no-one gives a flying f*ck about quality anymore. The race to the bottom is complete and now they've started burying each other.
Thats the fighting spirit my good man!Running fine, but there is still a niggling doubt that it might do it again. I have decided to carry on and get the old girl into good condition ,All the rest of the bits and pieces done. Airbags on their way just sorting out bulbs for dash switches before I remove dash and do blend motors ( well the one my side really) two tyres arrived yesterday. Then if the problem re occurs I will bite the bullet and get another engine put in. till then fingers crossed
