I got me an FL2. It’s a 58 plate 2009 2.2 auto original HST. It’s the next project vehicle. Currently sorting wheels, tyres, lift, extended hoses & polybushes. On the list is underbody protection, snorkel, ladder, rack, chequer, rear mounted spare to name a few.

I like it, looks like the front end has had a facelift.
I’ve had my HSE auto for a couple of months now and am loving it.
Stornoway grey too, good colour.

Nice looking FL2 when I went looking for mine I was searching for an HST but ended up having an HSE Tambora Flame they are totally different beast to the FL1 don't you think, a lot more comfortable to drive, do you know if the belts have been done if not best to get then done, use gates they are the best in my opinion, I also added rear light covers to mine it already had the front ones.

But I think the 1s are a lot of fun to drive.
I found that with the D3 too. Yes the D3 is in a different league to the FL1 in all situations. But it wasn't fun to drive, boring in fact. I miss it's space and motorway ability but that's it. I really do prefer the character of the FL1, and it's cheap to fix!!
The FL2 looks good though DD. ;)

Hoping to have it on show at Billing along with my black one with the Freelander owners club. Should be lifted with wheels and tyres by then minimum. Wheels currently being painted. Just finishing a prototype steel lift kit with a degree of camber compensation designed in. From what I can tell it’ll be the only one done like it. Should be like my blue one pushing the boundaries a bit.

nice one DD  ..
wishing you all the best with it

looking forward to write ups and pics :)

Is there any chassis under the drive shafts on the F2 that interferes with or limits a lift, like there is with the F1?

It’s a similar concept to a 1 underneath but it’s all done differently for testing purposes I’m approaching it like a 1 but with a few changes like camber adjustment built in to the kit because you can’t use camber bolts. Also have to be careful with subframe clearance on the front. I’ve made a lift kit. Probably get it fitted at the weekend. Will measure before and after heights. Check Cv joints at full travel for binding. Camber angle and alignment.

What's the max lift one of these can do
It’s all a bit untested. I’m starting sensible and will go bigger to test until I have a problem to guage it as best I can. I’ve considered cranked arms and longer shafts but it’d be an expensive kit

As something I'd like to own myself one day I like that your exploring this. Well done.

A few goodies going on. I’ve started fitting the lift kit. My tyres turned up this morning. All before measurements done. :D
