Wots wrong with black and gold? I'd have tought that would look good.
Maybe take a photo side on and have a play with photoshop or similar

Having driven practically all of the current Land Rover range, we're probably going to get a Discovery Sport - which is quite similar to the FL2 underneath. I wonder whether this kit will work, as the ground clearance on these cars is not massive...

(Not sure what Land Rover warranty boys will make of this modification! LOL - might have to keep the FL1 somehow - although the missus thinks we can get rid of the ZTT and the FL1 for this new one!)

It will invalidate the LR warranty. They may choose to accept for eggsample a headlight fault isn't caused by the mod as it's nothing to do with it. Or they may not. Decisions have been made either way.

I suspect that mods to that car would have to wait until the warranty expires - but I am sure it'll do pretty well off road, but will have a similar problem to the earlier FLs with clearance I suspect...

BUT it is the only current LR product that isn't ridiculously wide and long... the Disco 5 is just tooooooo big IMO.

The FL2 does ok oft road. When JLR sale and demo staff talk about oft roading the DS, Evoque, F pace and E pace (and probably the tratter when it were ont sale)... they reference they should go anywhere a FL2 will go, but some don't have the engine under tray fitted.

Ground clearence is always an issue with any vehicle. The more yer have the more yer want to do, so need more to do it. The art of gettting through/over an obsticle with what yer got is key to feeling invincible. ;)

I would imagine the DSport is quite different.

Talking to my brother leading up to its release and they had problems with the mounting brackets for the rear suspension. It sounds like it mounts to the side of the chassis rather than mounting under something and the clearances were really small. The part they engineered was failing so they had to go for a forged component rather than what ever the alternative was (or visa versa) - what ever, it increased the cost of the component by quite a lot.

Nuts, yes you’re right: there’s much less strut intrusion on this model than on the FL2 :(

I’m also reading bad things about the particulate filter re-Gen and oil dilution with diesel - we don’t have a disco sport subsection here sadly :(

The DS has a completely different feel from behind the wheel compared to the FL2. It's also very spacious inside, even though it doesn't look it on the outside. The DS does feel similar to our Ford Kuga to drive. It's got fast accurate steering, although lacking in feedback. The engine is responsive and there's little body roll in the bends. When I could afford the DS, that's the LR I'll get.

I like the D5 on the inside and it is truly huge. However I just couldn't justify the cost of it, especially as it's rear end has looks that only a mother could love.

100% agree. The Sport is in the "Goldilocks zone" in terms of size: the others are just far too large sadly. And the Sport pulls off the most amazing Tardis effect in terms of interior space; it is ideal for our family of four.

But the diesel dilution from frequent regeneration cycles of its particulate filter is putting me off the diesel: I doubt we'd do enough long-distance motoring; a petrol might be better for us (much rarer). And part of me wants to keep the tinder dry, as LR are going to announce the new Defender later this year, and that ought to be worth waiting for.

Apologies to DD for high-jacking the thread: I had hoped that the FL2 kit would fit the DS, but sadly it appears not. Shame. Look forward to seeing the modified car though: that really is worth waiting to see! :D

I’m so excited I’m gonna burst. Lifted and booted.
