Didn't pikey write a fred on security devices a few months ago, along with some good advice on what did and didn't work?
Yup he did so a search would of given some good answers.
From Facebook, A 110 stolen West Sussex today not far from gatwick, drove it about 3 or 4 miles then dumping it in a wood only stealing chosen parts, rad, intercooler, headlight surrounds and seat covers, another stolen in a neighboring village last week.
I saw this thread on face ache as well.
The other thought is that the knot was marking not her land rover but her dog?
I can't help but think the time spent tying a knot around her crossmember would have been better spent stealing it
Maxyman, probably worth having a chat with your local community policing team. If you've been followed twice, and the string has been attached twice, then you've got grounds to ask them to help out. You might be able to persuade them to use your situation as bait in as sting.
Yes I did think that too fella!
Seems strange in both ways as it would a lot easyer just marking a wall or dance for example instead of risking getting seen trying to mess about round the back of a land rover.
I've seen chalk markings on a few rural houses and walls near me and have warned them about the dog thefts going on.
Cheers for that Dobbs I would of done but I said at the start, it isn't my wagon I copied it from a Facebook page and this is from Doncaster area. I'm simply sharing it to make everyone aware
Mates, can't you guys install alarm systems like Viper, which can disable the starter, fuel pump, ignition, sounds off a siren, pages your remote, take a snap shot pic of the thief and add an auxiliary battery to keep power to the alarm if the **** bags try cutting the hit wires?
Seriously, there are Viper alarms which does this.
Btw, I am sure the crooks are registered here and look at all the threads regarding stolen Landys, the same ones they maybe even stole.
that has been voiced. as well as pics being put up on what members have done to there ride.
So am I to understand that people are not installing alarm systems to their prized Landys?
some have, most that come on here to report there was stolen are new and most had nothing but factory column lock
I install Viper alarms on my BMWs, with shock, level and ir sensors for the convertibles and that's in the fairly safe parts of Canada. These alarms have turbo timers, remote locking and a ton of features.
For the cost of peace of mind, a practical security device and a great deterrent, why are mates not doing it?
The mates will spend money on mating but not on their first love Landys?
North american( I'm US) can use security systems that the Brits can not. The type that are like onstar are not allowed
