Hi fellow fans.
I just bought a defender 90 from 1990 2.5 turbo diesel. For 6000€
I need all the info i can get about this car.
Like it has 200.000km. Whats is the life of the engine?
The owner also said that this type of defender does not hav glow plugs.
When he is cold he starts after 8-10 turns. Is this normal or thrue at all?
Thank you at advance! Any info about this type is very welcOme!
Pics will follow!

Not the comments i was looking for guys..
Its like 4000 pound but it is in really good state!
Dont forget this is not the uk. They are more expencive here..

Give it a damn good service, that may help with starting issues..it should start 1st time really..

The bloke who sold it is a tool..of course its got glowplugs..

200k km is not too bad...keep an eye on the turbo though..you're in 'fail' territory..

Welcome..cheer up...it gets far worse once you own it for a while....

Welcome :)

You've bought it now - to be honest, the initial cost is soon forgotten once you start fixing it up. I paid more than I should have done for mine too, but 12 months on and I've probably spent the same amount again on bits and pieces, new engine, new wheels and tyres, and so on.

Get a manual and start reading up on how to do the basic servicing tasks.

Ian.

I saw a small patch of rust on the door pillar..i got a piece of sandpaper and i was 3mm away from touching it when my chassis disintegrated into a bucket in redneck country.

Ring ring, ring ring.

Don't download the manual - just buy one. To get started, the Haynes manual isn't bad - [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Haynes-Workshop-Manual-Landrover-Defender/dp/B00126FX4O]Haynes Workshop Manual Landrover 90 110 Defender: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home[/ame]

For more tricky jobs, the genuine Land Rover workshop manual is the way to go - [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Land-Rover-Defender-Workshop-Manual/dp/1855203111/ref=pd_bxgy_kh_img_b]Land Rover 90 110 Defender Workshop Manual 1983 MY - 1995 MY Workshop Manual Land Rover: Amazon.co.uk: Brooklands Books Ltd: Books[/ame]
