Call me old-fashioned, but I like having the manual in my hand when I'm in the garage. And there's something quite appealling about a well-used, grubby, oily manual. Or is that just me?

I'd suggest you get a new set of glow plugs. There's a chance they are what's stopping it starting quickly. It will start a lot quicker with new ones.

The owner says that the 250 tdi engine glows while it is starting!
So it is normal that egnition takes so long cold.
It is not even fitted with a signal light for glowing he says.
Is this thrue?

Golly...does the entire engine bay light up then?

If you would have read good enough you would have know that i spend my last penny on this car!
And i cannot drive it yet, insurance is pending!
I am just asking if this is the way the car works! does it have a glow light?
I dont want to meddle with stuff that is not broken!

Yes it has no glow light. Just hold key in position for 20 secs then crank over.
you ment to wait for your glow plug light to go off, then start the engin. not start it streight away.
when you join a forum mate you gotta learn to take a bit of stick every once an a while, in time it will humor you. dont let it get to you so much. most newbies will ask silly questions and get a lot of stick. i know this becasue im still a newbie an still ask the odd silly question. but to be honest your ment to do all your reading up on the car before you buy the car.

my light dosnt light up on my 200 tdi,,still starts 1st time on the button though,,landys are always an on going project,,,when you get some more dosh you will start changing things and putting ya own look to it,dont wurry bowt the price,its prob right for over their,pics please though...good luck with it

Under no circumstances attempt to change your filters or the glowplugs (that you dont have) before then in your 250tdi as i wish to see this model and learn in case i buy one in the future.
