dead series spotted

my dad recently visited a old mate to get some welding done on our transit,he said there was 4 old landys in the yard,all looked fooked and he said they were older than my defender,the guy said they were not his and had been left there pending work that the owner could not afford,so they may be scrapped soon,worth me finding out for you guys if they are going to get broken?
