L322 Curiosity - what do the buttons on my drivers mirror do?

Found it - Thanks, what an awesome resource.

And - Found the answer in the tech manual - turns out all 3 buttons are for the Universal Transmitter - each one operates a different frequency transmission for remotely opening garages/gates etc.

So, that explains why nothing happens when I press them - I have not got an electric gate or garage door - and even if I had an electric door on the garage I sure as hell would not be able to fit the car in it!

Taken me four years to find out what they do - how cool is that?

Mybe the line that says "Japan only" is a clue. Is your car a grey import?

I could send you RAVE on CD covering Defender, P38 and Early L322 but the postage is prohibitive.

To use Faultmate, you really need a laptop with Vehicle Explorer, with that it really is plug and play, just be careful never to unplug the Faultmate from the OBD connector unless it's idle. If the Faultmate is the Extreme version, it can be used without a laptop as it has a display, not so easy to use though. Vehicle Explorer can be downloaded from the BBS site.

Morning Keith, It is the Extreme so stand alone.;)

As did I. I have never heard that one called a driver's mirror. Only known it as rearview mirror. I've been reading this wondering why the driver's mirror would have buttons on it , as it's outside View attachment 201122
 Yeah. good point. It was late and I was having a mental block and could not remember the simple phrase ‘rear view mirror’.

Not really sure what it’s there for either.....

Hi Datatek,

Good spot - but no. First registered keeper was a Director of JLR in London- a Landrover company car. But it is incredibly well specc’d. All the right upgrades.
At the time the top model was the recently introduced Autobiography, but only available in black. Like me, the director preferred blue with cream leather so he got a Top spec Vogue SE in blue and cream, added every upgrade and then had an autobiography upgrade so the leather seats, headlining etc and styling is all autobiography.

Then i bought it so I had all the first registered keeper details.

Do you not have a laptop? Much easier to operate via Vehicle Explorer with much more information. Unless the Faultmate has an open licence, you will need to get it unlocked for each car. If you do not have a laptop, might be better to sell the Faultmate and buy a Nanocom.
