to be fair though you find very little effects in engines that have had coolant serviced throughout ,only in engines that have had long periods on just waterIt is the oxygen dissolved in the water that causes corrosion. Have you got a dehumidifier? Save the water from that and use it for your antifreeze mix. That is why you use distilled water in batteries, so the oxygenated water does not corrode the plates.
