Evening all,

I have just noticed that the coolant level in my '04 Freelander (TD4) is below the minimum mark. Can I just top this up with any antifreeze/coolant or is there a specific one I should use?

Cheers,

Chris

there is roughly 3 ioptions, red blue or now green. Id match it with wots in there already or see what is says in the handbook. If you go to halfords or similar they should tell you which is suitable for your motor

Hi

thanks for the replies.

I have red/orange coolent in there at the moment. So as long as I top up with the same colour I should be ok? I don't have to use the same stuff that's already in there? Or is that determined by the colour?

That would save time. As I thought I may have to drain and flush the system to put coolent in that I know the manufacture of.

Cheers

You cannot always rely on colour but due to the age of your Freelander its most likely to be OAT coolant, sometimes sold pre-mixed so you just top up straight from the bottle, if not a 50/50 mix as said above.
