Seeing as you have the correct sender, I'd suggest checking if you have the right voltage stabiliser.
Voltage stabiliser ?Seeing as you have the correct sender, I'd suggest checking if you have the right voltage stabiliser.
It was an alloy one off of eBay, just listed as 300tdi discovery, fitment was the same and has a baffle plate between the top and bottom so can't figure it outDo you have pics of the rad?
Do you know which number you ordered?
Sounds as if rad is doing something strange, but will heat sink when stopped, don’t know why.

If the baffle you are talking about is in the top header like the P38, check that it is actually there. The symptoms are just like a P38 diesel with the baffle missing or failed. It was an alloy one off of eBay, just listed as 300tdi discovery, fitment was the same and has a baffle plate between the top and bottom so can't figure it out
Is the thermostat present? The saga still continues, I have checked wiring had dash out checked the rubbish ribbon on the back of the dash and voltage stabiliser Seems to work as it should , I have replaced the temp sensor , thermostat and even the rad as that looked gunky , been for a drive and still goes over the 3/4s mark , stopped lifted the bonnet and the rad core is stone cold but both top and bottom hoses are hot , as soon as I stopped the engine within about 30 seconds the core begins to get hot , filled the system with the bleeds off so there is no air in the system , and doesn't blow any out under pressure, am I missing something stupid?
Yer it's a brand new thermostat, and rad is brand new , and a brand new temp sensorIs the thermostat present?
I've not seen all the thread sorry.
You saw where I was going .If the baffle you are talking about is in the top header like the P38, check that it is actually there. The symptoms are just like a P38 diesel with the baffle missing or failed.
I mean the baffle in the rad itself that separates top to bottom,You saw where I was going .

Yes and some are better than othersI mean the baffle in the rad itself that separates top to bottom,
Or top to bottom on 1 side?So does your rad feed at the top from left to right or vice-versa?
Sorry marjon, I meant to point it towards our mate with the complaint. But you can show us pictures of all of yoursOr top to bottom on 1 side?
I don't know the rad which was why I asked for a pic.
J
I know what you meant, but I don’t know which why the OP flows which was why I asked.Sorry marjon, I meant to point it towards our mate with the complaint. But you can show us pictures of all of yours
It's top and bottom both on the same side , and oil cooler pipes on the otherOr top to bottom on 1 side?
I don't know the rad which was why I asked for a pic.

So it's a cross flow RAD? I which case there has to be a baffle in the header between the flow and return, if it's either not there or has folded over there will be problem. It's top and bottom both on the same side , and oil cooler pipes on the other
I will look at that thank youSo it's a cross flow RAD? I which case there has to be a baffle in the header between the flow and return, if it's either not there or has folded over there will be problem.
