Brought the crank in and gave it a quick polish up by hand with some 2000 grit and WD40

Looks perfect now. Been given a light spray of oil and its living in the corner of my room where its nice and dry so no surface rust can form.

My local engine man is ordering me in some piston rings from Perfect circle (I presume as he buys decent stuff) and a set of new head bolts too :)

Just been messing with the blower, spinning it up on the drill and it really does create boost

15mpg!!

more like 7..sorry but you got no hope of 15...and i dont care where the figures came from..its just physics..

enjoy the film..

310kg built up so whatever that is in lbs. Mine lighter with the ally intake manifold

GB springs are making me up some 4 leaf fronts or possibly 5 once I weigh it and the chassis together

Can we stick to one unit of measurement and not mix and match please?

Not that I have a problem with imperial or metric, I just can't stop laughing at the almost alternating posts of lbs, kg, lbs...... :D

Well if the merkin would let me answer the questions posted on my own thread we'd all be in Kg's :p

I don't like working in lbs, kgs are much nicer

Will do, waiting for the head bolts to arrive so I can put it together!

Your ringtone may be a little loud though, first run in is going straight up to 2000-2500 rpm to break the cam in

Saw your big clear out for sale thread. Saw the 8v71 supercharger in there. (No I don't want it! :p)

You not going for supercharged then now? If so why the change of mind & if not then just ignore me!

Trouble with running a blower with carbs is that you get a wet charge by the time it reaches the engine not the lovely fine mist that the carb delivers. In my opinion blowers only really work with injected motors. A blown big block in a Series will scare you stupid, with only an 88" wheelbase it'd be almost undrivable.

I could use the money so unfortunately its up for sale, if it sells it'll give me plenty of cash to finish off the build as theres a decent amount left to buy :(

It might get a blower at a later date but for now I'll leave it as an NA, helps insurance a lot too!

Pistons are re-ringed and if I have time tomorrow I'll put them into the block

Head bolts need to come in from the states but should get the moly paste later this week so I can pop the crank and cam in :)
