Ffs someone call that cop number and tell them the story, or someine shout lodly on the rozzer forum to someone that understands.
Obviously not happy either doesnt understand ( or want to) that putting a chimpanzee label on a giraffe dont make it a chimp and showing the pic of a chimp to a vet. He is unlikely to thing its a giraffe!

link?
not happy you are one dozy bint.THE CAR AND NUMBER PLATE DO NOT MATCH.THIS IS OF QUESTIONABLE LEAGLITY.i COULD PUT THAT NUMBER PLATE ON A FIESTA AND GET A HPI AND POLICE TO CONFIRM ITS NOT STOLEN OVER THE PHONE.
Its a clone, you very likely dont have insurance to drive it-EVEN if you have bought it.Also there is outstanding road fund licence and without a sva its NOT roadworthy. You say you put ya kids in it?Do you ley em play with matches too?

The problem isn't the dubious identity of the vehicle.

The problem is that the current rules aren't retrospective. The car has an identity which isn't stolen or scrapped etc, its obviously been through a couple of MoTs so its been looked at by VOSA (well, a representitive of, in the role of the tester). My query is that what should the tester have done, and what's the process from then on?

So....there's no official mechanism to catch the road tax evasion. The chassis number checks out okay on HPI. The police have been informed and aren't interested......

Innocent until proven guilty........the car is okay, according to UK Law.

"Deleted Ebay" Lol, nugget!

Mrs Not-happy/clever/honest - It certainly does appear that the car is a 90, therefore made much later than 1965.... You may claim this car is from 1965 to avoid paying road tax but could you also tell us..... Is that a tax disk holder in your windscreen??????

tax exempt motas still have to display a tax disc - they just get it fer nowt.

i think nothappy and her family know its a dodgy motor, and maybe they had a series for 2 years. then they fancied a defender, a stolen 1 at a quatre of the price and a shabby paint job later, abra cadabra theyve got a tax free defender. and why hasnt it been on the road since september 2009?? thats when it ran out of test, or havnt you had the balls to take it for a test??

The MoT tester has no remit to check the identity of a car, over & above presence of the chassis number.

... people have texted us and obtained our address by deceit, and we have also had people texting pretending to be police officers, so im not very trusting at the mo.

I would make sure this vehicle is now safely off the road and or in a garage, or trapped in by other cars, those people who have your address may now try and steal it.

This happens a lot on ebay, people give away the location of their vehicle/item, next thing they know it is gone. I know this is not what you want to hear but be advised.

Plenty of people have had a go at not happy for being a bit dim and not understanding the issue with the identity of her vehicle, whilst they may have a point, it's no excuse for the behaviour mentioned above, harassing someone like that is muppetry of the highest order and the people doing it should have a word with themselves.
