London. BUT I'M STILL HUMAN.
Hi all,
I've been wondering recently if i have a slightly different chassis to most defenders, vehicle is a '93 200tdi 110 hard-top. I only wonder this because, when i park next to other 110's, mine sits about an Inch higher than others, despite standard height springs and usually being full of stuff. I know that it belonged to BT when it was new, and had heard that Land Rover made 110's with a HD chassis for customers of the 300tdi range. Just wondering if anyone has heard of LR making HD chassis for 200tdi's, or adjusting the spring hangers to give better ground clearance.

Shot in the dark?

Maybe its just because you have good springs and the others you have parked next to have old sagging ones.

No - i keep meaning to go along and join a local club but have never got round to it. Ive not really been out looking for any lanes but def want to.

Yeah, i'm in the same mindset about a club. There are quite a few round here- LRO ran a Greenlane feature that was pretty good set round here, some of them are flat and boring but there are some pretty good fords, about 6 miles north of Ware. I've got some OS maps that show a few, need a few more to complete the set, PM me any time you want to borrow them. (although LR currently in the garage 160miles away having a new gearbox, with maps in it)

more than likely you have heavy duty springs, as it was a BT works vehicle before. utilities land rovers would have HD springs fitted to cope with the loads they are carrying (i.e. tools and supplies)

they were/are also an option for private owners
