Nothing so banal.
Not sure if you know the story, 2yrs and 3months ago I was closing the gate at work (a certain member on here seems to think that by mentioning gates to me it makes it hilarious, it doesn't....) and it collapsed on top of me. 2 tonnes of 100mm box steel construction with 2 hinges and no jockey wheel (you learn a lot when s
hit happens...).
Anyway, I figured I had a couple of broken ribs (among my other injuries of badly broken ankle and leg), but the hospital said I was fine (along with the fact that half of my deltoid muscle had been ripped off my arm and ignored for 7 months until I insisted on an Ultrasound...the continuing pain is just utterly wearing
).
So, many months (years) in, I was getting nowhere until my wife insisted we went to Lithuania and got an MRI.
Turns out my not broken ribs happened to be an actual broken (and badly healed by now) C7 vertebrae which gives me acute pain 24/7.
I can't even put my own socks on. Every morning I can't put my own trousers on until I have "warmed" up for a while. If I am in a hurry (appointment or such) I need my wife or son to help me out (or in as the case may be).
It's a bit sh
ite, but it could have been worse I suppose
So, getting in/out of a car can be a bit of a struggle some days.
