Nothing so banal.

Not sure if you know the story, 2yrs and 3months ago I was closing the gate at work (a certain member on here seems to think that by mentioning gates to me it makes it hilarious, it doesn't....) and it collapsed on top of me. 2 tonnes of 100mm box steel construction with 2 hinges and no jockey wheel (you learn a lot when shit happens...).

Anyway, I figured I had a couple of broken ribs (among my other injuries of badly broken ankle and leg), but the hospital said I was fine (along with the fact that half of my deltoid muscle had been ripped off my arm and ignored for 7 months until I insisted on an Ultrasound...the continuing pain is just utterly wearing :().

So, many months (years) in, I was getting nowhere until my wife insisted we went to Lithuania and got an MRI.

Turns out my not broken ribs happened to be an actual broken (and badly healed by now) C7 vertebrae which gives me acute pain 24/7.

I can't even put my own socks on. Every morning I can't put my own trousers on until I have "warmed" up for a while. If I am in a hurry (appointment or such) I need my wife or son to help me out (or in as the case may be).

It's a bit shite, but it could have been worse I suppose o_O

So, getting in/out of a car can be a bit of a struggle some days.
Doo, I'm so sorry. I didn't know about the accident and I'm really sorry you had to go through it all to explain..
Your a real tribute to human spirit and determination.. :D
Along with a few others around us.
Once again doo, sorry mate.:)

No need to appologise, really it's ok. I just assumed everyone knew and were fed up hearing (reading) about it :)

I post my little jobs on here to show how I did it and remind myself that it was possible.

But thank you for caring :)

Did you do a thread about your light guards? I'm interested in if they would cause deteriation from drilling holes. They do look cool

I bought the car with them already fitted. One of the front ones had three of the slats snapped so I had to repair them before I sent them to get dipped.

However, if you are confident you can do this easy enough, just remember, measure twice drill once!

Offer them up and mask off the area you are going to drill then dab the area you need to hole with a black marker. Once you've drilled out the holes, remove the masking tape and treat each hole with some anti rust paint, making sure it goes inside the hole & all around the inside as well as a couple of mm's around the hole outside, use a rubber washer to go against the body with a metal washer (stainless steel) above then the guards against that. That should prevent rust killing it in the future.
