Carbon on piston clean or not to clean ??

After stripping the engine I noticed that the first & forth pistons have a bit of carbon build up around them , is it advisable to clean them or not ? If do how & what with. ?

Wet & dry ?

Certainly wont cause any harm. Could use some very fine (p800+) wet and dry with some wd40 to lubricate or the green side of a sponge will do the trick

Or just leave it as its not going to do anything cleaning them, as soon as you run it they'll be black again

leave them as they are ,you only need to ensure rings arent stuck

or spray them with gasket cleaner then wash off, saves scratching or chipping piston.
