yes there is..you could be making up the inlet flanges..

now..why not while you doing inlet manifold make one to take a super charger??...oe make it to take fuel injection and run megasquirt??sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
much better than a crap old carb...(which you could easy sell)

Because I don't need a super charger, theres no reason to fit one in the series as that engine pumps out more than enough power

I could make an injection manifold but again I just cant be arsed.............theres no reason why I shouldn't just run a carb considering its far cheaper and easier

AND if you got cnc at uni..make your own flywheel???
though you will need to get it nitrided after..

CBA.......far too much effort to bother with

Nope its a 3 speed to me, it only has three forward speeds just like an LT95 is a 4 speed not a 5 speed

A lot of people refer to it as a 3 too if you look

yep EVERY one I know does.

Like fook........... stupid people that do not know what they are talking about
Doc it has 4 forward gears........ 1,2,3,4 and reverse

no every person I know refers to the number of speeds as how many forward gears it has.

this is like calling a defender/series a jeep.:mooning: And I did not cuss at Doc . just used a cuss word in a sentence. And when did your name get changed to green FFS:rolleyes:

No just to you.

If someone else wants a fuel injected 429 they can build it themselves and use their time and money........this is my engine its going together how I want

Your series your rules.

Your cavalier attitude towards good advice annoys me a little bit that's all, and in my book "can't be arsed" is not a valid reason for not doing something, so expressing (somewhat proudly) that you CBA with this and that annoys me also.

It's a discussion forum where the idea is that we can talk about the pros and cons of various ideas, simply passing them off because you cant be arsed is a bit boring IMO!

Why should I waste my money and time buying a megasquirt ecu and injection system, buying injectors that'll work with the caddy and then making it all fit together ?

Its my engine.......I want it to run that big Edelbrock 500 and it'll run it, simple as that really. CBA is a perfectly valid reason, yeah its a discussion forum but at the end of the day its my engine and it'll go together how I want it to. If you want to build a "fun" engine using injection and whatever else then feel free to buy the other 429 engine and build it yourself, exactly how you want. Either way this is more than enough power for a battered old series.

Theres a supercharger adaptor anyway for an Eaton M112 onto the carb as well as a three port blower scoop......we don't need to use them on the new inlet manifold but they're there anyway.

I also asked Malcolm at the engine shop about a hone on the bores and he said not to bother as they weren't rusty or overly worn.

This engine wants to go together as quick as possible and get dumped into the series with that SM420 and divorced LT230 transfer so I can run this for feb, thats the main goal and anything else is just a time wasting exercise which will waste my cash.

Not like I'm going to take it wading anyway so I don't need full waterproofing like you do.....I don't even have a snorkel

yep.

just dont say "i cant be arsed doing what youre taking time out of your life to help me/tell me about"

such a lame excuse...

I've taken his advice on the gearbox and I've picked up a proper one that'll take more than this engine can throw out but injection is not something I care for on an engine like this.

Build your own one if you want to see injection.......I didn't see you telling Griffman to run injection on his small block. He's got the smaller version of my carb on his

Would you like to place a wager.............

I would like him to succeed, But the way he is going about it, leaves a lot to questioned. Got to give him credit for ideas. The fly wheel and starter I see as a issue

No reason for it not to work if its all concentric........

I'll take the advice of the engine guru at Lancaster over anyone on here any day of the week, the guys got an excellent reputation and said theres no reason why it shouldn't work if its properly turned and drilled

That being said I've found a 402 flywheel which might fit
