Brechfa (Wales) Laning trip 21/4/12

Now the series is done I thought it was about time it had a proper run,so 120 miles,£70 of fuel

a pack of sausage rolls and a flask of tea later and heres the result

Had a great day,did three lanes in total and nothing broke!

Landy looks good and the lanes look interesting.
I have got to get to Wales. Just got to work out why my Mem Map won't load that region and then plan a weekend laning and mountain biking.

Looks like a good day was had, and nice to see the "racetrack" is back open again. (Thats the one with the hairpins, only reopened about 2 or 3 weeks ago after months of negotiations with the farmer)

Maybe a bit fast on the flooded sections?, although great fun pics like that do us no favours with the anti's!

I gather from WWLaning that the step in Brechfa itsself has had a bit of "gardening" done to it, making it more of a slope than a step now? Must have been done later in the day than you were there?

Where abouts in Pembs are you based? I've not seen you about? I'm just outside Spittal (5 miles from HWest)

We were only making a splash for photo purposes but point taken so I've removed those two

We were there Saturday and there's been a lot of work done on the lane but the step is still the same.
I'm not far from you,I'm only five mins up the road near letterston

Ah, strange i've not seen you about?

I have a Blue 200Tdi Disco with many stickers all over it, winch, light bar etc that i've driven around for years, I just took it off the road at xmas last year, I now use my green 300Tdi for all duties, so its slowly getting modded, can't go too far as I need it for road duties, I did 20K in it last year! It has "4x4 Response" stickers above the windscreen and rear door.

You may have seen it two years ago in Letterston Carnival towing one of the floats if you were there?

Looks like the plough / ground anchor on the Disco was doing its job in the last photo!

PS: Why the two snorks?

Cheers,it took a lot of hard work to get it like that

It's got 2 snorkels cos it has twin carbs with it being a V8 so one for each carb

The series has been off the road for 5 months having a full rebuild so that's probably why you've not seen me,i normally drive the disco anyway,it's cheaper!

I recognise your blue disco and I think I've met you,me and the girlfriend were walking the dog in sealyham last year and if I'm right I gave you a push in a blue series cos it got stuck while you were setting the course for west Wales 4x4,was that you?
