hi all last night my brake pedal went really hard and i cant press it all the way down is this air in the systerm? also i noticed a swivel seal has gone might as well do this at the same time are the brake pads and discs easy on a series 1 discovery thanks.

its not air as that gives a spongy pedal , could be lack of servo assist.

pump yer pedal lots of times till it goes hard. then keep yer foot pushed on the pedal . now start yer injun. the pedal should move down a bit if the servo is workin

been out to it this morning and i cant get a hard pedal at all it always pushes about 1 cm all the time

seems like you got no servo assist.. did you try starting the engine when you had yer foot on the pedal?

To check the servo (on any car) put your foot on the pedal and start it. The pedal should go down. If it doesn't, your servo is stuffed.

ffs ah sed that abart five days ago ya muppet. mind you y'awl forgot to tell him to make sure there was no residual vaccum left in the system

went to my local garage today and he confirms that servo or a valve is not working correctly going to check valve first then servo its self if valve is not at fault any ideas on cost thanks .
