Bonnet removal

Just a quick one.
To get the bonnet off, do I need to remove the windscreen wipers?

fook its ages since i tok a bonnet orf but i don't think yer need to take wipers off. why not try it and let us all know?

Cos the bolt holdin em on is rusted up and I'm hoping not to have to take them off

why not remove the split pin fer the stay and lean it back on yer windscreen (with suitable protection)

how much more room do you need

stand on the wings bring the bonnet up to about 90 degrees and lift

i reckon its yo bonnet hinges - if the y is worn - they dont rotate so that the slot lines up and yu cant then get the bonnet out. Actually yu can - but yu need to knock the bonnet sideways to drive the plastic hingey bits move out.

wot i do is to replace the split pin wiv one of those clip fingies - easy peasy gives loads room

yeah, its easy, even i did that, i put new bonnet plugs and also bought a giggle pin for the stay

Thanks for the hint on the plastic things. A srcewdriver and hammer persuaded them to move into position
