dont know why yer all bothering why not just get a deepender and not settle fer second best
deepender
265 mt's
snorkel

job done

3 reasons! One. Because that's the easy way. Two. Because deepender interiors and heating are pants. Three. Deependers are expensive!! I'm happy with my disco and chopping it about, I'm not known for being the same and I don't like doing what every one else does. And when its done its my car made how I want it. It may not be to everyones taste, but that's life!

heating is fer gurls, they is expensive but you get it back if you sell (i got a 12 year old 90 11 years ago and its probably lost 1 third of it value in that time). i sooner spend my time using it than butchering it

thats your opinion :) one life, live it!! and thats exactly what im doing! everybody has their different opinions and thats that.i like it,and im sure quite a few other people do.
for the people that do,heres a couple of pictures for you to have a gander at,remember i said lime green? well check this out for in ya face!
and for those eagled eyed painters out there, you will notice a couple of runs on the bonnet, the paint was to thin and pressure to high, but it was getting late and i wanted to get a coat on so i could if id missed any prepwork etc etc. so come monday morning ill be able to flat it back, fix whats wrong then blast a nice shiny coat on! been busy doing a few custom exhaust today so didnt get as far as id liked,so will be doing a 13 hour day on monday with a couple of friends to get the job done, by monday night all panels will be back on, and hopefully all extras back in like headlights and mirrors etc etc. even if the paint finish isnt brilliant, its the colour i want and within my budget, its going to get wrecked anyway but i love it :)

as promised, she was painted this weekend, all that remains in the roof, but there is a reason as to why it wasnt done today, because of the time it takes for the paint to become hard enough to mask over etc, if i had painted the roof,i would not of been able to mask it over today so i could paint the body , as it it now,i can reassemble most parts so its secure and water proofish , then mask from the roof seal down next weeked without fear of damaging paint. anyways, here is the newest lot of pictures , with thanks to my very good mates and a lot of hard work, she dont look half bad for being painted in a day and a half!

pictures below are of the bonnet and bootlid after i rubbed them back a little and then repainted.and the first stage of masking ,the baldy bloke is robbie! having fun with a grinder and masking tape !

and here she is!! masked, prepped, then matt blacked.and im really pleased with the results, considering it took us about and hour to prep it and about an hour to mask ,it came out really well . the last 4 pictures were the last ones of today!
now for the serious bit.
yes ive spent lots of money on paint etc. the preparation was not brilliant, but the paint is even and shiny ( on the green) and an even matt all over, yes you can still see scratches filler marks etc, and on the green you can still see dents and dings and where i only lightly rubbed the runs down. but who cares. its 16 year old car that going to be used to go through stupid deep water, thrown into ditches and most likely stuck on its roof. so who cares how good the finish is,because i dont! it looks good in my opinion and also several of my mates opinions.i only painted it because i didnt want it the same colour because then not many people would realise what id done, and also so that the pictures of when its finished standout a little and will ook better than if id just painted the same colour!
comments as usual, and if your going to even think about putting the paint finish down, then dont bother! because i dont wanna hear it :)

Sam darling you didn't read the top bit! I am doing the roof green, but next weekend!! Once all the paint is dry so I can mask the car off without worrying about ripping the paint off. So don't panick it is being done soon! Ill be reassembling the outside and getting my polycarb windows cut and fitted!! Then once all the outsides back together its onto the interior , then sort my wheels and my big arches and sort my suspension ,brakes etc out and hopefully be back on the road for end of may! I'm so happy with it at the moment though :D

Very good point gcoo, I've been googling, and they don't look very nice. Think ill leave that off the list :D

see what i mean on a disco they look like theyve thrown some fibre glass at some lights and bolted it to a poor disco :p

where as the defender one is shaped to suit the shape of the bonnet anorl and two lights sit high so looks the nuts ;)
