Without diagnostics you are on a hiding to nothing with a P38 IMO.

I didn't see it.
I promised myself a nanocom once i got the engine sorted as nothing else seemed worth fixing until then.
I guess that time has come!
Assume this is the one i need! https://www.nanocom-diagnostics.com/shop/product/ncom07 everything included? Or are there 'extras'?

Not seen that site before. On the old Blackbox-Solutions site it gave details, you have to order the version specific to your model of P38, petrol/diesel etc, I know no more than yhat as I have never seen a Nanocom, I have a Faulmate.

They come from Cyprus usually.

EDIT - there’s only one unit but it comes new with 3 different software types. Only one will work with a type of engine

One for diesel (06), one for Gems(05), one for Thor (07)

It does not matter which one you get, for your car best for sure, but all you need to do THOR and GEMS with a diesel unit are the access codes for them. One unit will do them all. The software is already installed.

Each additional software module has to be paid for.

Yes it does, so why argue the point i have already said they were loaded and you just have to get access to them with a code. Obviously the codes are not free.
