The OBDII thing is only for engine management/emission controll so not much use even on later LRs for specific system cos ABS/Suspension/BCU/BECM/ACE/SRS/Security...etc have nothing to do with OBDII and dedicated protocol for each of them is needed... even if you plug in OBDII reader in a OBDII compliant vehicle it will not cover 100% those specific systems.... you pay around £100 just to be able to erase the 3 amigos then if the SLS, ACE, BCU or SRS needs attention you are in blind again....that's it.... IMO get a dedicated tool with full coverage for bigger money or better don't buy anything

Its 130 us dollars plus delivery
thats well over £100
last time I looked the retail price was 128.95 usd not 130 usd
like I said in the post I purchased mine from fleebay ..as didn't like the fact paying that much money I also got free shipping LOL but it did take 3 weeks LOL

you still never answered my other question ..so how much is the real tool and retail price ?
in the original post he has mentioned he does not want to spend to much money on scan tool so what would be your recommendations ? bar from the real deal

as far as we both know he may only need to read the codes and clear them to sell the vehicle we do not know the history

if you guys where really that good you all live in the UK the UK isn't that big of a place ....why doesn't some rent the tool but leaves a deposit in pay pal

I do the same thing here in Australia I rent tools out,,,, ie injector sleeve pullers and other special tools for other vehicles ,as long the they leave a deposit and pay for the postage.. when my tools arrive back home the deposit from pay pal is refunded,,, I make no money off doing this but there has been a few who have left me 50 bucks to say thank you... enough to purchase a carton of ****

Ok so I rounded it up by a dollar and 5 cents OMG!!

Hawkeye and Nanocom prices depend where you buy them from. I never paid more than £250 for mine as I got them on group buys from here.

I stick to my guns Hawkeye or Nanocom, the rest are just a waste of money.

I have always made my Diagnostic available to anyone who wants to travel to me, not into hiring out, you then get into the realms of lost in the post, damaged etc etc
We also have the LZ International Rescue Map for anyone looking for assistance - no one for Australia has signed up for that

i thought you where just being a prick .that's why I rounded the numbers up
yes there are times my self I wish I had the real deal but I have also managed to get by only by experience
the original post may have just over 100 pound to diagnose his 3 amigos but he might not have the cash to spend on the correct tool

I do agree with the original post that he just needs a cheep reader to read the faults .I did the same thing I purchased a cheep reader the money I saved purchased my abs module
although mine has fixed more than one issue its payed its self off and still works to this day ..unfortunately myself has 3 amigos once again here is the link https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-ro...he-disco-and-electrics-3-amigos-again.310180/

not purchasing another module this time as I'm in the process of building a house but i don't need a nano com to tell me this

You know he is right,@biggeeeee .

I will no longer drive to help anyone who has an issue with their D2, at last count I think I had covered a total of 400 miles on 6 different occasions to help out fellow D2 owners with free nanocom plug ins, At no charge whatsoever ......Now following Ozzy deano's advice, I will ask them to post me their D2's , I can then plug them in at my leisure.

Cheers

I think the OP has enough food for though and has differing views on what to buy.
Seems you go for the cheap option regardless of any thought for safety, If I'm reading your link above correctly
you state not only do you have the 3 Amigos lit up but also and I quote
'i also have a SRS light'
and your remedy for this - again quoting
'the SRS light was easy to remove by removing the dash and removing the LED light'

I'm out:)

For so limited coverage as reading or clearing codes there are cheap multivehicle tools which can do the job and even access some systems too, i've had one similar with this myself(older version which is not available anymore) http://www.ebay.ie/itm/2014-02-TCS-...603238?hash=item3ad2cab566:g:vWMAAOSwTA9X8SjK and it works for what's in the coverage list, i gave it to my son in law who runs a garage, i attach a part from the coverage list.... as i said mine was an older version and the list is from my tool but i doubt a newer one to not be at least the same

seems like you also want to get involved ..LOl
yes i have also drove around the country helping others where my badge
since you put your 2 cents in,,, help out the original post instead of taking the ****

I seem to have started a bit of a war here and my name is not Trump. Sorry for that. All I really want is way to put out the 3 amigos to test how long they stay off then do it again before the MOT. I know the ABS is ok, Bont care about Hill decent and also pretty certain the traction control is ok. I will buy the proper one if necessary.

Just on the off chance anyone live near Ipswich in Suffolk with one then I could come to you if you were happy for that

Thanks
Dennis

If the systems seem to work doesnt mean there is no fault present which keeps the amigos on cos there are different defaults some of them are set so to keep ABS/TC/HDC activity with reduced performance so dont be sure that clearing the amigos will keep them off for long ...first of all you need to see the stored fault code cos in 90% of cases if a fault was rectified the amigos will go out on theyr own no need to clear them

I will agree when I first diagnosed mine I needed a new modulator .I purchased a new one and fitted .when I switched on the ignition the fault was cleared without using any tool

Hello Dennis,

This unit has been mentioned a few times on here, if you search for it you will see what people think.
My personal feeling is that the best thing you can do , is find someone with a nanocom or Hawkeye and bribe them with cake.

Cheers
When my new toy arrives i'm going to have all the cake on the Isle of Man :p
